I aint saying Harrison is gonna win, but bearing in mind how often he went down in the ams do you think Price's chin is that far above domestic level? It's also worth mentioning the state of Mark Krence's face at the end of their 6 round fight and also that Harrison put Francis and Negus down. And McCafferty was his second fight more than 10 years ago now.Matt W wrote:Never understood this talk of Audley's one punch power. Any heavyweight that lands right can hurt a man but at anything above domestic level Harrison is not a puncher (and yes, I did see what he did to Sprott, I also saw him against Dominic Negus, Julius Francis, Derek McCafferty and Mark Krence).
Fairplay he's in good nick but that's the least you should expect of a professional fighter and it won't matter a jot once Price starts bouncing right hands off his head. We all know by now what Harrison is about, Price is going to muller him.

Exactly. Audley is not a puncher and never was.Matt W wrote:Never understood this talk of Audley's one punch power. Re: AUDLEY COMES IN AT HIS LIGHTEST IN EIGHT YEARS
Hope his die hard fans, who continue to pay their money to see him live, are really happy when Audley declared that this is the first time since 2004 he's been in love with the sport and trained properly.
Must have been very pleasing to hear this and now realise that was the reason for him losing to Williams, Rogan, Haye etc etc.
Hang on..... he always said before those fights (and in each fight) he's got the fire back and he's trained like a demon.
He's admitted to conning his supporters for 8 years.... Nice!

Aud doesn't have top level KO power. He probably has enough to trouble Price though.
Thing is, you have to actually throw punches to land them!

If Price stays busy and keeps pressuring Audley, nothing will come back.

Audley doesn't even have a height or reach advantage to take into this fight. He will fight terrified on the outside, not engaging at all. As soon as Price connects with the right hand Harrison will slump to the floor and its all over.
Price KO 2

Harrison actually has very long arms for his height, so I think he may have a reach advantage despite being 3 inches shorter.Punchy Joe wrote:Audley doesn't even have a height or reach advantage to take into this fight. I'v now looked it up and to give you an idea of how long Audley's arms are, he has an inch reach advantage over Tyson Fury, a 4 inch reach advantage over David Price and an inch advantage over Nikolai Valuev.

I totally agreejameswilson wrote:Have to say I am not suprised, I saw a pic of Audley about 10 days or so back and did think to myself 'jesus he looks in decent nick' also bear in mind tho at 40 he will be starting to lose muscle mass.
I have got a niggling feeling that Price is going to be a bit cautious in this one so it won't suprise me if those betting on Price by KO in 1-6 will end up disappointed. I don't expect Audley to win, but do expect by the end of the fight people will say, 'you know what, fair play.'
Price daren't mess this one up, he'll take his time, I'll be very surprised if this ends as early as the Haye fight. Audley will do everything he can to avoid this being another embarrassing night for him so I see it going beyond 6, but not far beyond mind.
Price 7-12 is my bet.

Last time I had a bet on Pricey it was £30 on a 3rd round stoppage against Sexton

Is it necessary for a heavyweight to pack Ron Lyle-type one shot stopping power to hurt David Price?
His chin is an unknown quantity right now.

Hopefully we will find out sometime soon. His chin needs the check.loaded_gloves wrote:Is it necessary for a heavyweight to pack Ron Lyle-type one shot stopping power to hurt David Price?

Hard to get the amateur knockdowns out of one's mind. Always seems more dramatic when it's such a big chap falling but from memory the knockdowns were heavy against Cammarelle and even the small Indian fella in the Commonwealths. Pricey showed balls that night though to get up a couple of times and stop the little fella.

Re: AUDLEY COMES IN AT HIS LIGHTEST IN EIGHT YEARS
Audley looks in good shape for sure. He's got in good nick,as the muscle mass is there.
Always been surprised at how skinny Audley's arms are, they don't look much bigger than mine, and I'm 14 stone and certainly no arnie.
No matter how confident and in shape Audley is, if Price catches him, it is over. Audley would need take Price out of his comfort zone to win this, and the trouble is, Audley is only capable of doing that against fighters he is superior to physically and or skill wise. He has neither advantage here, any skills he had were maybe marginally better than Price, and eroded by time, and physically, at 40, he's definitely not got any supremacy.
Price will feel him out for a round or maybe two, then he will start to land the jab and right cross. The first significant right that lands cleanly, and it's game over for Audley.

Yep, gotta agree there, Audley is gonna get stopped methinks.
However, he looked in amazing shape there, I hope he puts on his best performance tonight, regardless of the result.

Re: AUDLEY COMES IN AT HIS LIGHTEST IN EIGHT YEARS
I don't think that is what happened here. Audley was sparring with some good Americans. But when you don't have the finest chin and get whacked by David Price I only think one thing is gonna happen.MachoMan09 wrote:i remember people saying how great Riddick Bowe looked on the scales for Golota 2 and how this somehow meant he must have trained right. It didn't. Riddck hardly trained, he just dieted hard, took the weight off too quickly and was flimsier and more vulnerable than he'd ever been in his life. Only Golota's lack of brains and Riddick's fighting heart saved him from a loss but it was still to all intents and purposes the last real fight of his career. It finished him, Audley has done exactly the same thing but he is not blessed with the same heart and chin as Bowe and Price hits a lot harder than Golota ever did. He was as weak as a kitten in there tonight - appearances can be deceptive, gentlemen.

Re: AUDLEY COMES IN AT HIS LIGHTEST IN EIGHT YEARS
Yep Bowe had been ditched by Futch and foolishly overtrained himself. Ali took bad medical advice and used tablets that badly weight drained him ahead of Holmes. Harrison looked great but perhaps he was drained or simply too old. Fair play to him, he had a go and there is no disgrace in losing if you try.

Audley comes in lightest, and then out goes his lights.
