Hate threads like this. Has the author ever been in a boxing ring, let alone a gym? It's not easy or fun in there at sub-sub-sub novice level, let alone being 40 years old facing a 29 year old puncher.

Audley had a go - he was too old. I'd take his life accomplishments and bank account over mine or anyone here.

It's not just that. He has fooled the public too many times and made the sport a comedy for the last few years
Should the public not have been wiser?

'Joke'.

Also..

Big house in Beverly Hills
Beautiful wife and kids
Can retire tomorrow and never worry about the bills again - yes, I would swap.
Westlake Village, not Beverly Hills.
Pardon me for not being au fait with Los Angeles and district - the point being that wherever he lives is probably far nicer than the council housing/barratt cookie cutter estates shitholes we come from.

Apparently he has. He was offering out some numpty on here recently saying 'come down Repton' etc.

Strange that an ALLEGED Repton fighter would say that considering Audley is a legend at that club!

I don't understand the hate for Audley. What did everyone expect was going to happen? Audley was always going to get KO'd in that fight. It was a foregone conclusion. Dominick Guinn, Sprott, Rogan, Haye and a shot Danny Williams have all beaten him. Plus even in the fights he's won. He's been bullied in many rounds.

Has he really? Excellent news - I look forward to him uploading a video of himself boxing. He can teach Audley and the rest of us how to fight a world professional level.

No he hasnt - he paved the way for the likes of Khan, Degale etc with what he did at Sydney.

He's won a european title

He's just not as good as he thought he would be

no shame in that

You're coming across like a bit of a knob here

Did he not secure funding for our leading amateurs too?

No surprise that since that was brought in we have excelled in the unpaid ranks. Without Aud leading the way in that regard, our medal count would not have been so high at Beijing or London.

All those who think this thread should be deleted say 'aye.'

We already had 4 threads debating Audley v Price and Dan Connolly in his infinite wisdom decided we needed another one.

All this "He went out on his shield" stuff was a load of bollocks..........

He approached the fight in the same way that he did the Haye fight. His hands were up, pawing out and not hitting Price at all. He looked like he came in too light for this fight. Essentially, he was too old and slow for Price and i wasn't in the least bit suprised by what happenned. As for Price, good knock out, but it means very little against an opponent that has been little short of pathetic for a long time now. Audley has always looked the part, but could never fully transform himself from an the amateurs to the professional ranks. He was damn lucky to get that title shot against Haye and whilst i wish him well for his future, i hope to never see him in a ring again. Two very bad and embaressing defeats to end his career on.

Audley also promoted himself, and opened the gates for the likes of Calzaghe, Hatton, Khan, et al to do away with the cartel of promoters getting paid handsomely then ditching fighters once they were done with them, and promote themselves and hog all the cash for themselves.

I think that's a great thing. Of course it 'seemed' like these powerful people worked had to put a stigma on him and everything he says and does and that has followed him his whole career.

Audley talks himself up like every fighter, including all the ones who don't win. His only crime seemed to be that he was more articulate than most boxers and a lot of boxing fans and that seemed to rile people. Weird.

I would have had more respect if he'd come in, chucked a few bombs and got KO'd. The whole not throwing punches thing has just not got him anywhere. Terrible 'tactics' from a scared, deluded, shell of a fighter.

I thought that Audley looked sh*t scared from the first bell (granted, as would I!) he looked jittery, on edge and nervous...I do feel for him though. Couldn't fathom how he could top the embarrassment of the Haye 'fight' but he did! Retire In Peace son.

Harsh thread this, he's had a few highs. Olympic champion,, Prize fighter champion, sparked Sprott with one arm and bust up Williams in a couple of rounds after a shit first fight.

and some terrible lows which must linger in his own mind.

Doctor rings the husband of a patient and explains, 'Your wife is here and I'm afraid there has been a mix upwith her test results, we don't know whether she has got alzeimers or AIDS'. The man replies, 'What the hell am I supposed to do now then?' The Doctor answers, 'I'm going to put her on the wrong bus and if she finds her way home don't shag her'!

harrisons done plenty to be proud of in boxing so what if he fell short at the top rung of the pro game, at least he didnt throw it away. Is talking a fight up a crime in boxing now? Everybody was saying the same thing about david haye not so long ago.
