There was plenty of rust there I'd of liked degale to tie his man up more & nick breathers & thrustrate his opponent

Degales coach is awful. always has been. he should give jimmy tibbs a call. Prob being overtrained and will burn out quickly. u can tell hes not learning anything new. Brian Magee wouldve beaten him last night. Froch wouldve ruined him.

I agree it seems his skllset is not improving but the opponents are. He didn't look well conditioned/hardened for battle to me. Obviously cardio fit for the twelve though.

Degale looks good here and there but he spent a lot of time not doing a lot, getting hit and generally floating round like he knew he had it in the bag. Looked like he'll be heading for some points losses if he doesn't get something in gear. I suspect he thinks the Olympic medal gave him special powers.

degales opponent was a rock, but skillswize he makes sakio bika look like sugar ray leonard. i think degale will get nowhere near a genuine world title now. his last two fights against limited opponents have seen him get bashed up and heavily marked. he really needs to get properly fit , or a real puncher will take him out fairly easily.

The scoring was much wider than I thought it should be. A very durable but ultimately limited fighter connected way too often. He looked good in flashes though but I seriously wondered if he had any punch power as he connected cleanly but didn't make much difference to his opponent's psyche (maybe the guy was real tough). I also thought he seemed a bit humbler in comparison to the days before the Groves fight. He still hasnt got rid of that left slap from his repertoire ... Look forward to his future fights!

I thought Degale won a competative fight against a decent opponent, he needs to be kept busy though. He looked tired and at times ran out of ideas and was really getting bullied in there. Decent fighter, but a long way off world level right now. Tough divison too, I wouldnt fancy him against any of the top guys.

I enjoyed the fight and Degales performance. The French fighter was hard, hard, hard! And if Degale had'nt put the shifts in getting in shape he definitely would have been taken apart late in the fight. That said, it didn't take long for Degale to look ragged an lose his crisp form. Touches of brilliance, flashes of world class style but he has a lot of work to do- evidently on his engine, before he can claim to be world class. That's only going to happen if he trains like an animal full time. It's all about the appetite.

spot on i agree he's a top class fighter in the making
