Is it really such a great fight? Johnson is 43, on the slide and has been beaten in his last three.

Imagine the reaction if this was Tyson, Price, Degale etc they'd be getting slagged to high heaven for this sort of opponent.

Beaten by the 2 premier fighters in the division, i dont know how anyone can rubbish this fight!

Yes, but Glen also lost nearly ever round last time out against Andrzej Fonfara. Fonfara is decent but it was Johnson's lack of workrate and fatigue in the later rounds that really cost him. Whilst he's not shot, he is on a rapid decline..

Classic matchmaking. I hadn't seen the Fonfara fight and didn't know he had retired so like others assumed this was a pretty decent matchup. Bunce will have a nice easy job hyping this one.

If we're getting a Johnson far removed from even the one that fought Froch then it'll be a shame to watch Groves tee off on him in the later rounds.

Excellent match-up for Groves at this stage of his career , yes Bute, Froch and Cloud have outboxed Glenn since 2010 but in that time he's also, kayoed Mack, and Green, who are still being pitted against the best at SMW.
Although I thought Glenn had knocked it on the head but maybe he thinks he can knock George's career on the head.

should be a good workout for groves getting back into the groove, johnson maybe past it and lost 4 of his last 6 including his last 3 but hes not gona just roll over and let groves tickle his tummy they dont call him the road warrior for nothing and i expect a tough workout for groves but a ud none the less, cant see groves stopping him hes only been stopped once in his 17 losses back in 1997 to b-hop.

Johnson has got the ring nouse etc to give Groves a few things to think about and Sakio Bika has decent dig and is a tough awkward spoiler of a fighter who can make anyone look awful as I remember Bika made Calzaghe look absolutely dreadful a few years ago.

If this is the case then I will be peed off as I will probably buy tickets for this fight as I live nearby. But I got a feeling what you said is probably right and Johnson will not take this fight. This should never get announced if it is not a done deal.....
