I agree Mark. Daniel is a great guy. Very modest dosnt show off or act like a show pony at all.
Daniel is just as annoyed with his recent opponents as the rest of us. I was told they are really struggling to get opponents. If Heremia, Loporto,Oti etc wanted the fight im sure they would take it.

Why bother with them, when there's a couple of bananabenders that are willing to take him on anytime he wants...whether for his PaaBaa title or not?
I think LoPorto has called it quits & plans on taking up officiating.
No doubt you can figure who's most likely discouraging those matchups, because while Dawson has the title, it's his source of income ;;-)

Daniel has rarely tested himself and at 35 that PABA belt is probably his meal ticket. It is harder for Perth fighters with the additional travel costs and stuff and he's certainly not the only Perth fighter at the moment guilty of rarely testing himself.

Nope! But generally fight around Heremaia's & Oti's recent weight

Can't he at least get a shot at the Commonwealth belt? ...and get trounced by a UK-er! :)

What is this comment based on ?? Daniel is one of the most humble fighters and guys I have ever met. as for Queenslanders who would fight him, have they asked for a bout ?? If so name them and tell me Dawson's camp have knocked them back !!

It is really stupid to say that Daniel is afraid to test himself, he has stepped up when he has had the opportunity. And don't forget this is a guy who has taken and beat on some of the best kickboxers and muay Thai fighters in the world I seriously doubt he is scared

I agree fellas. Daniel has fought over 100 pro fights. Beaten the best muaythia fighters including John Wayne Parr.
He has fought some tough boys in pro boxing. And isnt afraid to test himself. If the QLD boys wanted the fight they should be pushing for it. Apart from Tongia though i cant see anyone else ready for Dawson.

I would never accuse Daniel of being scared. But comfortable with saying he has rarely tested himself.

^^^ I don't think that has been by his choice though. Daniel obviously like competing and testing himself you don't go to the top of any sport without having an extremely competitive streak and wanting to test yourself against the best. Daniel has done that in boxing as well though not as often as he has in KB/MT but he has still stepped up when given the chance. Unfortunately a lot of fighters don't get much of a choice in who they face.

Ain't 'D' for Dawson in CDL Boxing Promotions ?

I didn't say it was by choice either. But the fact is he's rarely tested himself in his boxing career.

Dawson (3rd) vs hogan (4) would be a cracker IMO
Hogan has a big Irish/Australian following over there and it sounds like Daniel has a good following so crowd wouldn't be the issue
Thoughts ?

He has fought Daniel Geale for the IBO middleweight title and Serhiy Dzinziruk for the WBO junior middleweight title.
Not enough? Losing to Lo Porto probably did not help him marketing wise.

werent Dzinzurik and Geale undefeated when he fought them ?? Pretty good efforts really, although i am aware he got dominated in both fights. I was reading his facebook site the other day and appears he has been training at big bear with the Mosley camp and stated a "big" announcement is coming. Good luck Rock.

Dzinzurik's stock has certainly dropped in recent times so a loss to him does not look so good for someone wanting to be a world title contender, albeit it will probably help him get a fight against a champ looking for a keep busy easy win

No doubt his stocks have dropped, but at the time he beat dawson he was rated very highly.

If Soliman or Geale want a safe, stay busy voluntary, then Dawson is perfect!

Brute, I totally agree with your sentiments here, he has proven that he'll fight any one in front of him,
any one, any rules!

Just like Sammy Soloman, I don't think he's to be looked at as an
easy defense, he would still have to be considered some what dangerous, hense the lack of competitive boxing opponents

Dion McNabney will fight him @ drop of a hat

Daniel will be at jnr middle, so sam and geale are not an option. I dont think dion is in the picture. At this stage of his career dawson needs name/money fights. Hopefully the announcement he is to make will give him both.
