Mark Prince On The Comeback Trail.

Guys, suspend the emotional aspect and address the reality, Prince coming back at this age is utterly pointless. Exciting fighter in his prime, but he hasn't set foot in the ring for more than 13 years. He's not even going to be half the fighter he was and we're not in for exciting fights, we're in for an old fighter trying to recapture the glory days and failing.
I have the utmost respect for Prince as a person, but let's not blind ourselves to the reality of being a pro boxer. There's nothing good that's going to come out of

Big puncher.
Left the game close to his prime.
A long time since his last fight.

Reminds me of Foreman's comeback.

Keith, your love of Prince is blinding you to the reality. A comparison with Foreman is madness. A comeback more akin to Terry Dunstan is probably the best scenario you can hope for.

The point I'm trying to make is that, like Foreman, Prince left the game with a lot left to offer and he was also a very big puncher.

I'm not saying Mark is going to be a world champion, but after a few warm ups, I'd bet heavy on him beating Enzo.

Fair enough mate. Just think 13 years is an eternity in boxing and to come back at his age makes it even harder still. I know what you mean about Enzo, but that's more because unfortunately Enzo's an accident waiting to happen and shouldn't even be in the ring still as his punch resistance has gone completely.

I think pf will be perfect for him.if he's struggling he can pull out .

Saw Prince on Sky News in the studio recently and he was his usual articulate self. Top bloke.

Can't say I'm in any way happy to hear of a futile comeback though.

3 years ago at the 'Bunce Live' event in Bethnal Green, Prince stood up from the crowd and said to Buncey and everyone else there that he was coming back then. Even Buncey, the eternal best mate of every boxer in history didn't seem to impressed or pleased at the news.

Prince is doing a great job now, much respect to him and he was a very decent pro but he should stay retired.

There is a point. He needs money and being an intelligent realistic man he has set his sights on prizefighter. With his vast experience and if he can prove he is in shape and i he does well in a couple of "gym fights", than with the shorter distance and format, he should be a worthy inclusion if lets say he has 4-5 months to prepare. Certainly the £8 grand participant fee should go down well with him.

I saw him in the gym about 2 years ago and he was in awesome shape, talking about a comeback then - not sure why that didn't happen
