He was still in many people's P4P top ten when he stepped into the ring to face Hatton. But after Hatton won, the nay sayers were describing him as completely shot for years.

Beg to differ respectfully. He squeaked past an average fighter and most were saying neither him or corrales would ever be the same fighters. Plus his whole weight making dramas....

No one expected rick to lose that fight.

He didn't look good against Ngoudjo granted and Ricky was the deserving favourite, but he was still considered the major Light Welter challenge for Ricky at the time.... just aside from Floyd and challenges at Welterweight no one at 140 was expected to beat Ricky.

Castillo didn't look a shot fighter in beating Corrales and in his victory against Reyes. Many people thought he would be better at 140 having his struggles to make Lightweight before.

All the fighters you mention in your previous thread, with the exception of Cotto, Corrales and Gatti were campaigning at 147 lbs since Hatton beat Tszyu. In Castillo, he beat the man who KO'd Corrales so not sure what he would have gained beating Diego. Gatti - yeah maybe, but then he had just been outclassed by Mayweather and had moved up to 147 in early 2006 - just a few months after Hatton beat the best at 140.

Cotto yeah they should have fough, but again was struggling to make 140 by 2005.

I can see how the pipe lagging may work in this second vid-clip ... the guy is using them to tap when the kid is dropping his hands or getting the kid to slip under it after throwing punches.
But Shannon and Rickys clip ....
Shannon flicking the lagging about may be tricking the eye into thinking there is some-speed work going on ... but look at Hatton punching and its ain`t fast .... what exactly is the point to this method?
No head movement when punching .. and just exagerated head movement when he stops .....

You r right granted, but obv if we can all see that's what Ricky should b working on, then maybe their time would b better spent maybe? I was more concerned with the low hands tbh, surely by now he must know to raise them a little? It's gona b two soft wins and then devastatingly ko'd isn't it?

This is 3 mins footage. 3 mins of a 12 week or so training camp. We know nothing about how their time is spent

They said the same about Tszyu even though he was so highly touted by the pundits and bookies to knock Hatton out.

Ask FW - there is no way he would have brought Tszyu over and paid him good money if he didn't think that Hatton had a very significant chance of winning.

The way he has abused his body will have taken a terrible toll on him I can promise you that.
