I'm more pro-prizefighter than a lot on here, but you cant argue with them after last night. It was boring.

Why can't they just have normal boxing for a change?

Did you see any of the curruthers fights?

Anything BUT boring mate, some of the decisions were bad, but boring? No

I thought last nights Prizefighter was great, the Curruthers/Vaughn fight was brilliant entertainment and the final was a boxing master class by the winner.

McEwan clearly won. Why were the commentators hyping up the Nigerian bloke and pretending he was doing more than he was?

End Prizefighter it is boring. Another awful Hearn show.
Sorry cant agree with you mate. This is one of the better ones.
Pish. Mcewan won that fight. Prizefighter ruins more fighters than it makes.
Rubbish, Prizefighter never ruins fighters, if you lose makes no difference, but it does make fighters, winners and runner ups sometimes get title shots off it, not to mention the money everyone makes, it gives unknown novices exposure and can revamps a boxer career thats on the slide.

Fair play to him, he fought out of skin. The show was however incredible dull. The very point of prizefighter was to reintroduce excitement and to recruit a new breed of fans to the sport. I'm not sure that last night could claim to tick either of those boxers, with or without a plucky underdog.

Prizefighter must be an awful lot cheaper to put on than a decent Saturday night domestic card.

Exactly, it's a bunch of undercard / walkout fights dressed up as a main "event" - Smith must be finally getting the idea Hearn has sold him a lemon, It's piss poor stuff for a so called A level boxing channel - who used to show live classics like Barrera/Morales - it's dropped down the levels and right through the foor.

Really? Sykes, Crolla, Mathews? Off the back of Prizefighter where are they going? After the terrible decision McEwan got now sitting on his record, if you were a champion/contender, would you risk going in Prizefighter?
They were talking about McEwan v Macklin/Barker/Murray beforehand, what now? All off the back of some crap 3-round stitch-up.

I agree totally, Carruthers did show heart and grit but for actual boxing it was poor,
I think the format only works with the big heavyweights

Also anyone who would rather watch this nonsence rather than a 12 round title fight just insnt a boxing fan!

Heck i enjoyed Gavin v Witter more and it was a bit of a stinker

McEwan just isn't that good I'm afraid.

The most important period of his development was spent as a sparring partner at the Wildcard, and then not getting the right fights to help him improve.

Going to America as a novice isn't always the right thing to do - clearly wasn't in his case.

I had Larry winning, but a man with over 20 fights shouldn't be struggling with a 2-0 novice pro, regardless of the lad's circumstances. He'd still only beaten two very low level journeymen thus far.

the toms result was a shocker, he clearly won the 1st 2 rounds...so how can you lose a 3 round fight... there were no knock downs neither was the last round completely one sided!

i was there and this is clearly a good example of how a fight live and on tv is very different.

larry won and defo won the 1st which having rewatchwed it on tv i can see why people scored to mcewan. but larry outboxed him.

lot of mcewans punches were just missing.

Prince Arron, Murray, Buckland, Rogan and Audley Harrison to name but a few

I agree McEwan reminds me of Dean Byrne a big reputation based on being used as cannon fodder for the big guns at the Wild Card, but no substance, his technique was terrible and he started blowing after the first round, it was close with Larry, could have gone either way, but McEwan should have done better then that against someone with only 2 pro fights.

But they all won. The suggestion was that people who lost would do OK out of it.

Nit picking ?Quigley English title, Derry Mathews, also the runner up to Rogan as examples, never mind those who have got contracts with big promoters.

He's a complete bum anyways, so is McEwan now. McEwan had lots of potential at one point, but stayed amateur too long and has always been chasing something that will never happen I'm afraid.

Well my friend without sounding like a cock your not the best judge of a fight if you gave larry the first round, nobody in that arena scored larry winning the first.
A right hand to larrys body stooped him in his tracks in the 3rd and craig should have capitalised, allowing him to win the round even clearer than he did,at the end of the day craig never performed has good has he could have but still won that fight.

Didn't bother with it, I'm making my own little stand against Prizefighter. i normally 'consume' every sort of boxing available, but Prizefighter is woeful, this lineup was particularly woeful. I won't entertain it!

Interesting that Matchroom now seem to be using it just as a feeder to Eddie's main shows.
Carruthers got in because he had taken a Matchroom fight at short notice and Larry E seemed to get in on the back of tickets sales.

They paid about 100k out in boxers purses last night I don't know what that like compared to a noam
8 fight domestic show?
