Wow!!
Was gonna say why would tamoxifen show up. I dont think most of them drugs would give a great advantage as a boxer, as a bodybuilder certainly but not as a boxer.warmachine wrote:no mate that is what i admitted to using in 6 years, my sample only contained epo. maybe read it again
Your mood must have been all over the place, Larry. Did you never get any depressive symptoms or rages?warmachine wrote:no mate that is what i admitted to using in 6 years, my sample only contained epo. maybe read it againTheCobra wrote:Larry Olubamiwo's sample contained:

Sorry mate, it read like that on the site at first glance, but I guess the bit I've highlighted shows that it was a combo of a positive sample, plus the 'use or attempted use' bit. Just shows what you get in this world for being honest I suppose:warmachine wrote:no mate that is what i admitted to using in 6 years, my sample only contained epo. maybe read it againTheCobra wrote:Larry Olubamiwo's sample contained:

Agree mate, it's a powerful drug, very powerful indeed, as are a lot of those drugs on the list. Always amazes me what people are willing to put in their body for short-term gain, who knows what long-term side effects that whole concoction is going to have on your health Larry.stujones wrote:Also used to treat Male and Female Breast Cancerwarmachine wrote:Tamoxifen isnt a steroid. it is used to prevent bitch tits or moobsthe truth wrote:Off course they would !!! Got some nasty little side effects also. I was a little bit stunned to see it in the list.
warmachine wrote:remember i have a pharmaceutical chemistry degree and so i know the dangers of these drugs and they are VASTLY overstated. in reasonable doses they are fine as long as u dont have a pre existing condition.

Yeah, Tamoxifen especially. My mum has been on it for health reason with Cancer for years - clear side effects and also quite expensive according to the NHS.TheCobra wrote:

My attitude towards any man-made 'self improvement' drug is that they are un-natural and therefore in some way will have some side-effects and potentially damage the body long-term. I therefore avoid all drugs if I can, unless treating an injury/swelling with something fairly weak like Ibuprofen which is a necessary evil sometimes.

Haha - well the two times Ricky Hatton didn't balloon up in weight between fights and I am sure neglected his morning fry up was against Mayweather and Pacquiao.banjo wrote:What happened to the days of steak, cigarettes and beer? Now it's all Nellywellyhixxypoppydropeline or some shite.

Psychology is quite a bit of it. Got a little bit a background in Diet, Nutrition and Drugs and its affect on behaviour. Not a specialised degree like Larry but taken many many modules on it upto and including Masters level and teach on these modules now at Undergraduate.banjo wrote:stujones wrote:Haha - well the two times Ricky Hatton didn't balloon up in weight between fights and I am sure neglected his morning fry up was against Mayweather and Pacquiao.banjo wrote:What happened to the days of steak, cigarettes and beer? But seriously I don't understand these supplements, do they really make that much of a difference?
On average boxers are worse now than they were in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. This is largely because the talent pool is smaller, because of reduced participation, but it is also because the importance of strength, conditioning and supplementation has been over-estimated and the hugely increased percentage of training time dedicated to these things has been to the detriment of time spent working on skills and sparring. Getting "fighting fit" is easy but selling that concept isn't profitable so there has been an effort to pretend it's complicated in order to sell shit, it's worked. Getting skilled is difficult, harder to teach and takes a lot of time and isn't profitable and can't be made profitable, so it's suffered.banjo wrote:stujones wrote:Haha - well the two times Ricky Hatton didn't balloon up in weight between fights and I am sure neglected his morning fry up was against Mayweather and Pacquiao.banjo wrote:What happened to the days of steak, cigarettes and beer? Nail on the head mate, it's a dangerous cycle that these users enter into. Such a casual approach that unfortunately it would appear Larry has also bought into. Casually pop this into your body and 'oh well, may as well have a bit of this to stop the bitch tits', erm, it's an anti-cancer drug that completely changes the hormone balance in your body. Amazing what these people are willing to do just to have the 'body beautiful'.clopixolacuphase wrote:I once knew a steroid user who said exactly the same things: that he knew what he was doing, wasn't using harmful amounts and was well educated into what he was putting into his body.
