I hope you're right , the outcome I'd really like is for Ricky to have one last hurrah, put on a show and walk away a happy man knowing that he was better than most of his generation.

Will Carol be at ringside? It won't seem right if she isn't there hiding behind her bottle of gin or whatever it is she smuggled in to the fights.

yeah I think she will be along with Matt - I don't think Ray will be anywhere to seen though.

In answer to the original thread: I think Ricky wins on points or perhaps late stoppage. I'm going to the fight and just the thought of what the atmosphere will be like already gets me excited, so God knows how much it'll get Ricky up for it!

3 n a half years is a long time to be out, especially if it s on beer,curries,and drugs. add to that going up a division, and an opponent who must have a considerable reach and size advantages... remember how hatton easily dealt with castillo. now hatton is castillos position , it wouldnt surprise me if hes beaten quite easily in this one.

I'm with you mate, much as I'd love to see Hatton do well, I just don't like this comeback one bit. He looks terrible too, face looks spotty/blotchy a sign of body under a lot of stress. He looks gaunt like Skeletor.

I predict a bright start from hatton, probably do ok for a few rounds, then I can see it all becoming very real for him in there, the reality might just hit home and it might not be nice to see if/when he gases.

He DEFINITELY should have had a warm-up fight, this is deep-end stuff for me.

How much of Ricky's 3 1/2 year retirement was on drugs. Didn't he go to rehab soon after being exposed.

He's certainly given the impression he's been off the white stuff for a while, if not the Beer and the bad food.

Sometimes people seem to suggest he has only been off it when he went to the press conference, wheras he has looked fit and healthy for a while before that (thats why there was so much speculation about a ring return).

It's not hard to believe, when you think the level that he competed on it can't have all gone down the swanny with a little bit of over indulgence. So you'd think he'd still know far more than many in his stable.

I hope not, what he says about proving to Callum he is a hero and putting his demons behind him cannot be accomplished in a one off fight ...... I see him beating this opposition and then having a real crack at someone in the division, downfall might be like someone said that he needs to get real busy early because a twelve rounder after 3 years more out will cripple the best of sportsmen .... lets not forget that their camp know this too so will want to take it 12 .... I see Ricky win in 4, 5 with a super busy work rate and the bit between the teeth, after that I don't know if it goes to points ....

True, if he wins in style then he's going back up the ladder no doubt. Just with the problems he's had a win and goodbye would be for the best imo, the two losses in his career have destroyed him mentally another one certainly isn't going to help.
