If you live off the beaten track you get the chance to see a (pretty) famous fighter without shelling out loads on travel and hotels etc. For the boxers - I can imagine it is a bit of a buzz to go to the smaller places and perform; even if they never hit the very big time and the big money there's a lot of memories being made; the old tim fighters (pre television) would box all over the place.
