To be fair, I have no issue with Flintoff fighting, it's no different to me giving up my day job and giving boxing ago. In fact Flintoff is already a pro sportsman so its a more natural step than an electrician moving into boxing if you want to put it that way.

Coupled with that he must have met a decent level to be given the licence.

Jonny Greaves: I think what frustrates people is that Freddie is getting all these camera's follow him around and making a TV show about it. Is this just a 1 off fight or a genuine career for him?? If he is doing it for just 1 fight and getting massive tv exposure and calling it a day with no intention of making it a career then I can see people's reason for giving him some grief. I believe by him doing this, it may come across to the average Joe, that what you do look quite easy, when in reality it isn't!

I will respect Freddie if he genuinely wants to make a career out of this like Curtis Woodhouse but if he is doing this as a 1 off and will never box professionally again after, I will lose a lot of respct for the guy.

I just the hope the guy he's fighting isnt any good

I do agree its any mans right to enter that squared circle and aslong as he's passed all relevant medical tests Freddie is no exception.

Its just freddie doing this draws more attention to the sport, and should he get badly injured it will not show boxing in a good light. I'd be happier if he was fighting some other celebrity who wanted a pop, like that west indian batsman he was took piss out off, tino whatever his name is

johny,the point in that im making isnt about ability ,bottle or health .waht im saying is that flintoff is a loaded,no financial worries,has has much time as desired to train and learn the trade.infact he probably be fitter than a lot of pros who work as postmen,on building sites etc. average joe public couldnt just decide all of a sudden to dedicate there life to boxing.so the fact is anyone cant just do it!
im sure you could name lots of boxers whowish they could just stop working and train full time,best sparring training and facilities
but unfortunately thats not always posible.

as for name calling and piss takes,well in your post which i replied to im sure you were calling people plebs etc.

old fat men like me for simply diasgreeing with you ?

To be fair mate, it was no threat at all. Only when things get personal it's better face to face than over the web. I've no desire to be fighting or making enemies I'm in this to feed my kids. I'm not into fighting people who disagree with me.im no wannabe gangster at all.you did make it personal but I'd prefer to draw a line and get on with you.yes he has money & don't need to fight but we all box for different reasons.like I said,he will be looked after more than most but still has to take the shots.fweends? I can see your point but I'm just trying to say that if the man wants to fight who are we to say he can't from up on our high horse. If I got hurt saturday the anti boxing brigade will start lobbying for banning it.although not on the same scale.alls I'm saying is give the fella his dues for putting himself up.

According to McGuigan Jnr, Flintoff was refused a licence after his first trial bout. I think he said it was only 2 weeks later he had another trial, and got the nod.

Yeh, that is true.he done both trials at my gym.he weren't just given his licence after 1 spar. He really does seem to have put the work in. People really have just gotta give the man a chance. I've not met him or talked but think that if you're putting in the work & the hours we can't just slag him for doing it. I say good luck.he deffo will at some point feel the full force of a hard working heavy w. it really ain't been handed on a plate because of who he is. Fair play to him.

that I didn't think he should do it just that not everyone
