Vassell would be a nightmare for Gavin, what a great fight it would make.

Nice performance by Vassell and well stopped by the ref.

After the second uppercut Vassell could've absolutely nailed Heffron with a free shot

Heffron would have been schooled and never been the same again, So Vassell/Gavin is the right fight now.

Agreed mate, I thought Vassell was class. Couldn't believe he was 6/5, bookies clearly don't always get it right, clearly scared of his inactivity.

I knew this would happen, Ronnie trains and fights like he's a world class puncher, but he's not, he's only a area level puncher IMO, he's a nice kid and I'm glad the ref stopped him from getting hurt. Has Mr Gavin knows im never too far out with my predictions and I said in my earlier comment, Ronnie would win first couple rounds then Denton would find his form after shacking off the ring rust and just be too much for him, and I was right, it happend 2 rounds earlier than I thought though, I must be losing my touch

I don't think Heffron should have been given any of the rounds IMO

Frankie if you fight Vassell and beat him I will be impressed. You will need to be in tip top physical shape down the stretch though.

For 1 year out, he looked solid, and i think he will be sharper next time out.

Yh of course, Ronnie can most certainly come again, I had hoped he would win, but knew that what happened would happen, he's a nice kid who's dedicated and his young still, a loss is not the end of the world, main thing is he never got a sustained beating or got hurt :TU:

Vassell looked absolutely ripped; he must train very hard and be really level headed to keep his motivation after such inactivity; Heffron is a decent 1,2,3 fighter; strong, game and he boxes well enough but not well enough to be a champion though I imagine he'll be in some really entertaining bouts.

I agree Frankie will need to be in tip top condition and I agree vassell will be even sharper, I'm looking forward to it but will bet as much as I can afford to loose Frankie wins !

You should bet with your head and not your heart jessi; you put yourself out big time supporting Frankie; ater 12 months out Vassell looked very good indeed, if he gets a run of bouts he will be better. Vassell cuts no corners intraining - that is obvious by his physique - he looks like Tim Bradley. I hope it comes off, it will be a cracking bout; Denton ought to have more recognition.

Yep that is some physique Denton's got there, ripped to the max, he certainly looks to have the dedication required. On what I have seen of both men in the pros, minus any hype or Amateur achievements, then I would have to put Denton as a favourite to beat Frankie Gavin.

I agree Cobra; although Frankie is coming into his own and sems to be getting on, there is more promise and hype to his career than results. Vassell has had little hype and the expectations on him are far fewer and he is delivering good results; I think it i a good thing he holds a job down as well; it shows that his feet are on the ground. He is a very good fighter though I do not think he will win a World title - in comparison people expect the world and more from Frankie, I'm not sure that's a help or a hinderance.

I know pro bodybuilders who would give almost anything for Denton's abdominal genetics.

You reckon his dad, brthers and sisters have the same belly? I think hard work and strict diet plays its part. He is certainly the best physical specimen in the welter division by some way.

Ha ha! I ams what I am (as Popeye would say). I have to say I do admire people like Denton; they plug away, do not get molly coddled, they stick with it and don't go up their own arses, more play to the fellow. Hope he gets some big fights and good money out of the game.

Of course hard work plays a part in the size and definition but the shape of your abdominals is genetic. That's why some people even when ripped only have a 'four pack' some people have a 'six pack' etc.. :TU:

Palooka, bet or no bet, Frankie will be to smart for vassell, although he showed the young heffron a trick or two and looks like Timothy Bradley that's not get to carried away ! I agree Gavin needs to be 100% ready, but vassell hasn't done anything that worries me what so ever !

I have always like Denton, classy operator on the occasions i have seen him, and to put on the performance he did after a year out, shows some good skills. He really needs to push on now!

And he helped we with a nice little treble with Flintoff and Trout! Wish i had put more then £3.50 on it though!

Yep i like Vassell as well, i was a bit concerned beforehand that he was coming in after a year out, but he dealt with Heffron in a very professional manner, no complaints about the stoppage either.

Heffron can come again, and has been said many times before a boxer can learn more from a defeat than a victory (although it can also mean a boxer is never the same again)

Agreed.

I do think the ref called it right, bar a random knockout swing, it looked like he was going to enter a mauling.

As it stands he is still intact for the comeback.
