It gives the audience the illusion that the prospect is fighting some one half decent. But then this is typical in how fighters are brought forward.
It's the same for the Eastern European tomato cans that are brought over here. They have wins, in gym fights in their own country, to give them the illusion of credibility, then get knocked out whenever they go on the road.
UFC and boxing are different sports

I've become intrigued by this guy...36 year old Peruvian light-welter Tony Fernandez has managed a 35-0 (23) record and is currently a lofty #320 in boxrec's world rankings.

I fought Antony- good fighterhurlock wrote:Funny I was just thinking of him as I read the initial post!Jeff Thomas wrote:I love Paul Wesleys record.... 16 wins in 60 odd fights... only 6 KO's
That really doesn't tell the story of this mans totally bizarre career.
two of his KO's were over a world champion and a British champion. Amazing.
Some journeymen were decent!!
Anthony Hannah fought for a British & is a hard little pro.
Steve foster got thrown in early on & has a intresting record as does Steve Robinson, who's son is fighting now I think?
Re: Intriguing boxing records
What is remarkable is that his first 32 fights didn't go the distance, and all of his wins were via the early route.Tomasino wrote:Flashing Blade wrote:Travis Fulton

His record is only remarkable because he managed to fit it around his 300+ MMA fights

That is truly an incredible fighting record. I'm taking a guess that this guy does not feel pain! (But doesn't have a good chin)
