As I said in a previous thread. It appears Fury isn't that big of a seller. He wont establish a base in Ireland, even though he is trying to.

I was at the fight and at a guess there were probably only a couple of thousand. There was double that when he fought Rogan, about 4000. Frampton's last fight it was pretty full, probably about 6000 or more. ALthough Fury see's himself as Irish, most Irish/ N Irish people don't so that reduces the number of people who will go drastically. The fact he aligns himself very strongly to one side of the community alienates many from the other side who might otherwise go and watch him. Also, a lot of people wouldn't go to watch him because he's a traveller. Thew way he gets on and mouths off sometimes might also put a few people off.
I'm not saying that any of the above are necessaryily valid reasons why people should go but I think they all play their part to some extent! If you take all that into account I think he's doing ok if he can manage to get a couple of thousand in what is a relatively small city!

You have a very valid point. There is too many reasons not to like Fury. His mouth does it for me. That said I did see one of his fights live, when he was on the Dunne / Poonswat undercard. You can't say the things you do and expect a large amount of people to like you.

Boxing fans in Belfast go to watch the fights not be in them. I am sure a lot of people like myself chose not to go to the latest Fury fight after the violence that erupted at the Rogan fight. Also the production standard was below that of the sky team that helps build the atmosphere.

Well at the end the of the day I didn't go to watch Tyson Fury, I went to watch Haughian V O'Donnell. Was appalled at the decision of the fight. I had also heard that the fight before (Phill Fury V Joe Hillerby) was another bad decision. Decisions like that arn't good for the sport.

The problem with Fury is he isn't likeable, he isn't setting routes and claiming to be a Manchester fighter he's fighting all over, other than the Irish traveler thing why should the Irish get behind him.

Fury-Hillerby was weird more for the extremely wide scoring. It was a tight fight, I thought Hillerby had done enough but he lost 78-74 even with a point deduction thrown in as well for Fury (which I don't think they even counted judging by the final score). Bit bizarre.

As for Haughian, I don't think it was a particularly bad decision, even though Haughian dropped O'Donnell heavily in the opener it got closer as it went on and the fight could've gone either way. O'Donnell landed the more eye catching shots while Haughian plugged away but didn't commit enough when he had his man on the ropes. There was only a point in the total score; it was just a close fight.

I would have to disagree, after the 1st round which was a 10-8 round, the way it was scored was that haughian only won 1 more round and drew a round. In my opinion that is terrible scoring. I also found it strange in the 1st round when Haughian dropped O'Donnell, because the referee walked Haughian back to his corner, then went back to O'Donnell and started the count then. I always thought there was a time keeper at ringside to keep the count in circumstances like this one.
