Sergio Martinez telling Cristina Kirchner (President of Argentina) that he will
be fighting an Englishman in Buenos Aires which gets a big cheer from the crowd.
It is going to be big and big props to Martin - he is showing a ton of guts to be
fighting there.

I think Murray will give Sergio his toughest fight out of all of the Brits he has faced so far.

Murray will have to put it on him from the first bell and try and back Martinez up - as we all know the old boxing cliche boxing is all about timing and I feel the longer the fight goes on the better chance Murray will have against the aging 37 year old Martinez.

Darren Barker managed to make Martinez look quite uncomforable and gave him some problems early in their fight and I think Murray has the strength and stamina to contest well with Martinez.

Will certainly be a good fight but I don't think it is one that Murray can win based on the fact he would need to stop Martinez or seriously do a number on him to get a decision over in Argentina.

Most non Englishmen don't like the English. Some of the English abroad have a deserved reputation for being ignorant twatfaces who cling to some notion of former world supremacy as a reason to abuse the locals and show zero respect.

Kind of spoils it for the normal bloke who just wants to support his team or fighter in this case.

I don't imagine a load of pissed up Argies, talking Spanish and trying to root the local birds would get much of a welcome in England to be honest.

I live in Argentina at the moment. The majority of Argentine´s are super friendly and when they discover you´re English they are more interested in talking about Tevez, Aguero etc. When the Falklands/Malvinas does come up it is usually in a sensible discussion. Great country to visit. Do it if you have the money!

Would love to go to this fight, but that isn't going to happen. Argentina is high on my lists of places to visit, looks to have some stunning places to visit.

Murray will have a hell of a job to do over there, he'll start a live underdog though and can take heart that Chavez Jnr was able to do damage late on to Martinez and this might carry through to their fight.

I hope he does better that Dai Dower the welsh flyweight who faced the great Pascual Perez, after a boat trip of a few weeks to Argentina, he got stopped in the 1st round.

Bulletproof vest is not necessary unless you are looking for cocaina or guns in a shanty town (villa).

Pressure for effing sure, right from the start is the key for me. It is great when we can talk about defence, Murray has it, in bundles, Sturm couldn't deal and got really pissed off with it, brilliant for me.

Our boy MM can do this job, he will do this job depending on judges, hopefully he can put Sergio on his ass.

I want to be in the England End..... my Saint George and more importantly my St Helens top is folded up in my Argentinian draw, locked, loaded and ready to unfurl...... and it will

It is no dodgier than England but you are bang on about the cops, to be honest establishment here will not like us shouting and screaming. Expect shit. The people are totally amazing to be fair and my advice if you are coming is to spend time here and enjoy, treat it like a different spanish resort with the same rules applied. You eff around, you will get fucked. But I will be with you in the VIP area so we might be OK!! Seriously I cannot wait for this!

Out of interest do you know who was the last Englishman to fight in Argentina? and do they hate the English due to the Falkland Islands?

They do not hate us anymore than any other country do largely due to the British Empire and the Falklands need us no matter what they say about self governance, so we are there for them and pretty much therefore obliged to protect.

Like another poster said that is living here too, every conversation I have had about the Falklands, (Las Malvinas) has been well educated and civil. The people here that hate the English and think that Las Malvinas are Argentinian and not a British Soverignty are the same type of ill educated people we have in the UK sitting on their arses taking the dole and contribution nothing positive to society.
I would say that 9.9 out of 10 Argentinians couldn't give a shit about the Falklands.
Bring all your coin and you will live like a king here and deffo try and stretch out the trip, there are places here that are truely remote, we have all seasons in one day, all climates but unlike New Zealand we are MASSIVE and you need a lot of time to get from A to B.
Argentinians are amazing people, humble, resourceful and always ready for their next challange.

Willie Gould from Dublin fought for the Argentina heavyweight title, in fact he was declared champion from featherweight to heavyweight at one time. He actually fought for the heavyweight title whilst weighing 126lbs!! his opponent was only 139lbs though :)

I don´t know what the fixtures are yet, but I doubt they´d schedule the fight on the same weekend as that match. Maybe, but I´d be surprised. What is your budget, and what type of place would you like to stay? I live in Cordoba and not BA so I´m not an expert but know a bit...
