Bowe, I couldn't get into as a fan when he was around, so I can't give much of an opinion; I would have to review more of his tapes. I do think, though, he would have given Tyson alot of problems because of his size and punch resistance and overall skills. As to who would win, I don't know, I can't give an honest evaluation.

I've always believed Bowe would win.....prime vs prime....problem is that Bowe's prime was measured in nanoseconds.

So was Mike's according to his delusional fans. With these two it's best to just take them at their best. The Bowe from the first Holyfield fight whips any Tyson 8 out of 10 times. Just too much there.

The very best Riddick Bowe was a very special beast. His problem was that his brain couldn't withstand 40 some odd fights without showing very serious damage. He was a monster at his best, and he would have beaten the shit out of a prime Mike Tyson and I believe he would have beaten Lennox Lewis as well.

Bowe definitely had the tools & heart to beat Tyson, but would he have had the belief?

He baulked at fighting Lennox Lewis, so the prospect of peak Tyson wouldn't have enamoured him, that's for sure.

I think there's some credibility to the suggestion that Bowe avoided big punchers. He was also knocked down by Holyfield, whose record as a heavyweight puncher is pretty average. I tend to think his chin is being overrated here - yes he took a hell of a lot of shots from Golota, but Golota wasn't a good finisher (if he was he would have stopped Bowe) and his career best KO was over Danell Nicholson and I don't even know who that is.

points! Tyson used to be elusive in his prime! Or another example would be Tyson vs Green, that version of Tyson knew how to deal

with taller fighters....now Bowe beats the 95' version of Tyson by Ko

Tyson admits that he stopped training properly after Spinks. He had a change of trainer. Issues out of the ring. Etc etc. he would know better than some randoms on a boxing forum.

It's amazing he managed to maintain the same weight without training. Especially considering how much he blew up later in life.

Ooh, let me take a wild guess...... that'll be number 2 then.

It's a good indicator of the condition of a heavyweight. Considering Mike maintained a consistent weight throughout that time leads me to believe he was training like he always was.

Not that it matters, he would lose to Bowe on his best night.
