I feel for Frank and he probably knows that his days with Price might be numbered unless he can give him greater exposure.

Must have been a big fallout between Jaffa and Maloney.

Price, at a point in his career where he cant afford to be inactive due to contract disputes, so Loaded TV it is. As long as its on freeview, and promoted correctly, I guess it will get views, more than allegedly ?

I don't think the proliferation of channels is necessarily a good thing as it's like the Sky exclusivity deal magnified. They don't really seem to be competing against each other much and as such put on lopsided fights quite often.

Only so many saturday nights in a month so they will be competing against each other, just on different viewing platforms.

That Maloney Promotions is joining Loaded TV starting with Rose vs Webb.

It's not even a channel.

Basically channel 200 is called 'Controversial TV' and then it turns to Loaded TV at 9pm.

They have a fantastic array of content, such as a football show presented by 'Lads' in a pub enviroment.

Also a reality 'Lads' programme which follows John Fashnou as he starts up an amateur team of 'Lads'.

Then there are also other programmes where 'Lads' talk about general sport. And a program about 'Lads' that read books (or is that just actually a joke and it's actually 'Lads' talking about football except in a Library?)

Are there no plans to bring this to Virgin then? Seems a bit strangee to to take a product to a 'free' channel but then end figures are limited

why are these promotors going to channels that only a certain few people can get? no wonder uk boxing is going to the dogs unless your name is hennessey or hearn

If the main channels won't show it, then you've gotta do what you can.

Hennessy was in the same position 18 months ago before he struck the C5 deal.

You won't get to see any boxing on Sky unless your forking ut £50 odd a month. I'd say that was pretty prohibitive, I'd say only Hennessey offers what your claiming, no one else

This is awful news. I've got Virgin as well and subscribe for all the Sky Sports channels, ESPN, FW channel and still I'll miss quite a lot of fights!

So we now have Nice Guy Eddie on Sky, Warren on Warren-Nation, Meaty Mick on Five, Maloney on Loaded, Coldwell on Coldwell TV and Hatton out in the cold.

That all bodes well for making fights bewteen promoters. If 2012 was a poor year for top domestic fights (I believe it was) then 2013 will be disastrous.

Great point. From the outside looking in, it looks to me like Sky have backed Matchroom and nobody else in the hope that it will force a UFC type situation where all the best fighters join the same promotional company, therefore making the best fights easier to happen (at domestic level at least).

The problem with this policy, of course, is that if fighters stay with the other companies (like Price refusing to leave Maloney, DeGale going to Hennessy etc.), and those companies find alternative broadcasters (as has happened), the situation becomes even more fragmented than how it was previously.

As we stand I think the only cross-promotional fights that occur (between the bigger name promoters at least) will involve Hatton, simply because he is the only one left in the cold regarding TV.

It looks like it will get worse before it gets better.

Exactly! Tv stations dont want boxing, but promoters need exposure and extra cash. Do you think maloney (or vip is it?) was offered a deal by ITV but turned it down? Course they werent / didnt!

Seemingly its VIP not loaded. Plus, domestic big fights now need to go to purse bids so its up to the board to make them, get the bids in, and get the matches made. In an ideal world everyone would fight under one ufc type banner, but were not in an ideal world and that never going to happen

That would be very prohibited for the boxers. Imagine if a boxer fell out with whoever ran or owed this UFC type boxing promotion? They'd be frozen out with no other promotion company to join unless they moved outwith the UK.

I bet by end of 2013 many of these tv deals & channels will not be there! So make most of it now.
