Forget TV & other nonsense; sort that stuff out & get the fight on! :box:
Yeah - because it really is personal and not a professional, show building process that is going on. I can't see why Price doesn't just go to Morecombe and knock on his door; they could have a scrap in the old fun house for bragging rights.

If they fight this coming year they may split half a million quid (tops); if one of them gets a world title trinket the money goes through the roof; both of them will be set for life and probably be really friendly whenever they bumped into each other.

Wonder why anyone would want to build it up?

The reality is that the fight is worth more than £500k and the fact Maloney has publicly guranteed Fury £650k for the fight demonstrates that.

Its backward logic to say that the fight should be held off until one of them holds a world title. Title's dont mean shit and in any event the domestic fight should propel the winner onto a world title!

Neither of them deserve to fight for a world title until they have cleaned up all legitimate domestic challengers. Fury doesnt deserve a world title shot when he is unable to say with any credibility that he is the best UK heavyweight fighter.

The fight between Fury and Price, at this moment in time, is huge.

I personally think Price worries Fury and although Fury and his family may not be the type to be intimidated, boxing is a professional sport and unfortunately Fury wont be able to have his family in the ring with him when he fights Price. Plus the fight will have huge coverage unlike some unlicensed bout in the middle of a country lane. I think the prospect of Fury being beaten and thus humiliated by Price in front of such a big audience is genuinely a motivating factor behind Fury's clear lack of interest in the fight.

You can't be intimidated by an opponent because your uncle was a drug dealer? How does that work?

I think what he is trying to say is the people doing the 'twittering' aren't the people capable of doing it. Some of it is quite ridiculous. I wouldn't be on the same planet before threatening Tyson Fury with a straightener - never mind on twitter.

I don't think Fury is intimidated by Price. He chased the fight with him in the ams and was barely 17 when they shared a ring wasn't he?

Of course, he might be afraid of losing to Price but that's not the same thing. I don't think he is afraid of that either.

I'm not making any assumptions. I'm merely asking a question because I'm not 100% sure what you're waffling on about.

Just to clarify: you're telling me that no gypsy can be intimidated by another person who wants to fight them?

Thing is though, Fury had nothing to lose as a 17 year old novice. Let's not forget it was Fury who not so long ago vacated the British and Commonwealth titles so as not to fight Price. Let's go on recent behaviour as an indicator shall we...

Because the purses would have been crap. Do you honestly think he is 'scared' of Price when
he has fought better men. Price - like Errol Christie - is an accident waiting to happen. He won't
get as far as the European title in my opinion.

Yes, good man, Carlos. I couldn't decide which fight from the library I'd treat myself to tonight. Kaylor vs Christie it is.

What are you on about?? It would have been a career high purse for Fury! And if Price is so terrible, then obviously it would have been an easy fight for Fury....

Let's not be delusional here, John McDermott beat Fury for goodness sake. Fury has hardly demonstrated himself to be the second coming!

Just out of interest, who has Fury fought that possesses a more deadly risk than Price's right hand?

It might have been a 'career high purse' but it is nowhere near as much as the fight is worth. Why not fight Price down the line when they have more at stake? Thing is though, Price won't arrive at that destination. This is why he is being matched very carefully. He is a big accident waiting to happen.

Yes, McDermott did beat Fury but in all fairness - Fury has improved 150% - his win against Johnson was excellent - if Fury fights like that against Price and he will stop him inside the distance but I fear Price will be stopped by someone well before then.

Accepted. But let's not have people being delusional that Fury is leagues above Price due to some great pedigree and back catalogue of master class performances.

If David Price fought Kevin Johnson tomorrow, I would fancy Price to stop Johnson early. Genuinely believe that.

So in short, you accept Tyson Fury is avoiding David Price because he wouldn't earn "enough" money from the fight, even though it would be a career high pay? And that Price doesn't pose Fury a risk in any event should they fight?

Price can punch for sure, Bruno was a harder hitter than Tim Witherspoon but Witherspoon had more tools, Fury is faster, he is more durable, can do 12 rounds at a good pace an has better footwork. Sure, if Price lands then Fury is in trouble but Fury will definetely land and it will be a case of 'timber'.

You know, this is the 'Bellew Effect' on this board, I really am amazed the amount of love Price gets on here - that chin of his you cannot train to be durable and though he does have power and is very big and strong. Some one of his size who can whack or who has superior handspeed (like Camarelle) will have the tools to beat him.

The fight is worth more in the future - was Bruno scared of Bugner when he was being called out by him for 5 years - course he wasn't but when they fought - they both got a career high purse (both fighters had fought for the world title by then) and it stopped the nation whilst filling a football stadium. Do you really honestly think Fury is scared of Price? It is silly.

Of course Price poses a risk - but Fury also poses a risk to Price as well.

Mate, the love of Price you refer is in fact most people simply recognising that Fury ducked a fight with Price.

Price wanted it and Fury didn't.

What then turns people off from Fury is the way he runs his mouth off saying he is a fighting man and that he will fight anyone. Clearly his actions don't follow his words. Big shame

It's all about money, and why should he dance to Frank Maloney's tune? It is very dishonest to say that Fury is 'ducking' Price through fear and not true. If he got scared that easy, he wouldn't have fought Kevin Johnson who is a world class heavyweight. In fact, he wouldn't be where he is now - a top 10 ranked heavyweight.

I haven't said that Fury is scared of Price. Have a closer read of my posts.

I believe that Price worries Fury and that he is certainly accepted as being a risk to Fury's reputation and prospects. But if I'm honest I think Price and Fury both do fear each other, it's a natural emotion in the fight game, despite the bravado. Mike Tyson famously spoke about the fear of a fighter, as did Cus D'amato and more recently Chris Eubank... Champions are able to overcome the fear and face the challenge and perform.

Sorry mate, but Kevin Johnson is not world class. What's his independent world ranking?

I personally think Price worries Fury and although Fury and his family may not be the type to be intimidated, boxing is a professional sport and unfortunately Fury wont be able to have his family in the ring with him when he fights Price. Plus the fight will have huge coverage unlike some unlicensed bout in the middle of a country lane. I think the prospect of Fury being beaten and thus humiliated by Price in front of such a big audience is genuinely a motivating factor behind Fury's clear lack of interest in the fight.
You are saying that Fury is scared of Price and worried that he will be humiliated - it is complete and utter bollocks. I am sure they respect each others talents and they will fight somewhere down the line. I am one of the minority who think Fury will win but if Price wins - won't be a big shock - I can't see where it will happen though.

As for the world ranking of Johnson - who gives a shit about rankings anymore? There aren't many heavyweights better than Johnson around today even in the light of the poor standing of the division at the moment.

You're wrong. It doesn't say Fury is scared of Price. But if you want to interpret what I've written as that, then you carry on my friend. Price is a risk that Fury isn't prepared to take - simples. But please do continue to try and justify the very obvious situation.

No, Kevin Johnson still isn't world class despite what youve written.
