I'm not saying how a Fury vs Haye fight would go until I know if it's happening and when it's happening. What I will say, though, is that David Haye is a grossly overrated fighter in the UK.

Haye is overrated.

He is a top world class heavyweight, but he is beatable by various other world class heavyweights.

I scored the fight to Valuev. Haye was not impressive in that fight.

Wow you must of scored points to Valuev for just plodding forward,in some round Haye ony landed a couple of punches but that would win the round when Valuev would just plod foward and not land anything.I always think Jim Watt scored the fight how he thought the judges in Germany would.Haye got the job done abroad and nearly had Valuev out of there in the last round.I had it 116-112 and watched it a couple of time and could not find more then 4 rounds for Valuev.I rember Claude in boxing news had it a shutout and called it a masterclass.How did you score Fury-Mcdermott ?

Claude did score the fight 120-108 but it was shortly after that he threw in the towel and decided to leave the news and go backpacking with his family. Maybe the 120-108 was part of some kind of meltdown/mid-life crisis? I had Haye winning but the fight was close and there were a number of rounds that Valuev (who it always pained me to watch,, a truly horrible fighter to observe) clearly won.

The idea of someone scoring a close fight 120-108 as part of a mid-life crisis or mental breakdown is pretty funny.

Personally i think fury gets exposed first time he fights anyone remotely world class (and please don't tell me either kingpin or del boy were - one was here for a pay day and glorified sparring, the latter was horribly out of shape and mentally unprepared).

If however he does somehow win the strap, then him v haye would be a huge event on channel 5. If he's averaging a couple of million now with so-so opponents, imagine the numbers they'd do with months of promotion against Haye.

They are probably the two best known boxers in the uk at present to the average person (haye's move into the jungle will prove inspired) and the amount of publicity and no doubt controversy they'd generate in the build-up would see a huge audience figure tuning in, especially if hennessy loaded the undercard now he has a decent stable once more.

Primetime would be my bet.

If fury gets this shot and wins I would have to say in my opinion, and thats means nowt, Fury would have to be Englands worse heavyweight champion of the world and what a poor state boxing is in. I cannot think of another British heavyweight who has previously won a world title to be worse than Fury. I'm not saying Fury is crap or anything all im saying is that seriously he deserves a title 'World Heavyweight Champion'

That's my exact point. He hasn't fought in world class circles yet (neither has price). Kingpin was arguably once world class when surviving against klit, but was happy just to receive his pay and play his part as the fall guy a few weeks back. Chisora was woefully underprepared for the british title scrap, still shook fury a couple of times, but essentially didn't seem to give a sh1t about winning. A del boy rematch would be interesting to be fair.

Personally, i think the moment he steps up to a live world class opponent he will get beaten.

I liked his boast in the build up to the johnson fight that his physique was the best in heavyweight boxing. I bet haye, wlad and wilder (to name 3) were feeling well out of shape at that.

If you are being serious then how about haye, price (although wouldn't say he's world class level yet), and a fit and focussed chisora would be a pick-em fight too.

Povetkin would know too much, vitali would still have too much unless he gets very old at end of 2013, and wlad would decimate him.

I'd then say boystov would be too good for him, if only he was brave enough to risk his record and take fight. Think if he got wilder then it would be who connected first, but as fury has little punch power evidenced to date i'm not convinced he'd go 12. Helenius is a pick-em fight as quite similar to be fair. On his last showing i think banks would prob have too much for him. Adamek is a very good boxer and would back him too.

I'm not an hater, and enjoy his fights (i didn't enjoy the kingpin one as just so slow and one-sided) but just think what has he got at world level? He's not as fast as say haye, not as concussive as puncher as say prime vitali, hasn't got the defence and jab of wlad, or the all-round game of a povetkin or boystov.

The above is just my opinion and speculative, so be interested to see the counter argument that explains why you'd favour him in any of those match ups.

Adamek would be the ideal opponent for Fury NYC fight in March like Kelly was for Naz back in the day could be a war.

You think "fury gets exposed first time he fights anyone remotely world class", yet you can only name 8 fighters (Haye, Price, Povetkin, Vitali, Wladimir, Boytsov, Banks & Adamek) that you think will beat him and three fighters that would be 50-50 against Fury including "a fit and focussed" Chisora, Wilder & Helenius.

Someone who differs in opinion from a fury fan-boy isn't necessarily a hater by the way. You can enjoy watching someone fight and still be unsure they have the capacity to move to the next level.

i think you might need to, yes. do you see there being more than ten genuinely world class heavies right now? I'll add Pulev and Price to the mix.
