Price vs Fury? PPV - not yet surely..... thats like Groves vs Degale which shouldn't have been a PPV.

Can't see him getting that. Bute would want to fight in Canada. If Bute does end up on the card, it would be a cracking fight but who would they match against him though.

Sorry I read it wrong, he wants a doubleheader with Bute mooted to be fighting for the WBC on the same night as Froch according to a couple of sites

- Ward holds the WBC belt. He would beat Bute very convincingly. Then the rematch wouldn't make sense, if Froch won against Kessler.

I know you'd think it's a decent Saturday fight night bill. Eddies really selling the PPV imprint back to Sky don't they remember he's the one who convinced them Audley was a PPV star!

Well WBC doing what they do best. If Pascal beats Dawson and Bute wins that fight. Somehow I think we may not see Bute / Froch II, Bute / Paschal would be huge in Canada. That could happen soon.
Another fight on the Froch undercard which I think could happen: Huck / Ofalabi III.

Isn't the rubber match with those two already set by Sauerland?

No, venue or date is set for it. The fight is however happening.

That would be a welcome addition to the undercard. I guess it would be the main supporting bout.
What's happened to Frenkel? He's been in stasis for what seems like forever.

How about Liam Smith Vs Erick Ochieng for the Commonwealth belt?

Why would Smith give up home advantage to box on a rival promoters show when he is the champ? It's not like a win over him is even going to raise his profile.

According to Jean Bedard of InterBox, promoter for Lucian Bute (31-1, 24 KOs), is planning to stage his boxer's next fight on May 25th, either in Quebec, Romania or England. Bedard reached an agreement with promoter Eddie Hearn to stage the fight on the same date as Carl Froch's super middleweight unification against Mikkel Kessler - and then have both fights aired on split-site pay-per-view in order to further build a potential rematch with Bute and Froch [provided they both win]. Froch stopped Bute in five rounds last May, but the Canadian star has a rematch clause.
Bute would go up against the winnerof Nikola Sjekloca (25-0, 7 KOs) and Sakio Bika (30-5-2, 21 KOs), which takes place on February 16th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. The vacant WBC super middleweight title will be on the line in the Bute vs. Sjekloca/Bika clash in May.
Andre Ward has the WBC title, but because of his shoulder injury the sanctioning bodymade him a champion "in recess" and left the regular title as being vacant.
"Andre Ward has to face the winner [of Sjekloca/Bika] in a maximum of 90 days after the fight, but he won't be available, so Lucian will fight against the winner for the regular title. Revenue sharing should be around 55-45 (for Bika or Sjekloca) instead of 85-15, since they will be meeting for the vacant belt. We agreed with Eddie Hearn that we would produce a big show on pay-per-view with those two fights. It will be show in order to build Bute-Froch," Bedard told QMI Agency.

Groves/DeGale was never meant to be the headline fight though. Originally it was chief support to Cleverley v Braehmer wasn't it?

I have never had a problem paying £15 for ppv. At the end of the day it's about what you'd spend on a take away.
Some people moan about paying it but how do they ever expect big fights????? How could we expect to see Froch Kessler without sky ppv. I think it's around £100,000 sky pay for a show that's not going to go far in a big fight, then the stadium am guessing here but even a 20,000 seater wouldn't generate more than £900,000- mill. Then finally the advertisements another guess but maybe £100,000. Both fighters must be getting over a mill. That's without any under card, any security, and any arena fees,
The point I'm trying to make is without paying £15 for the one off big shows we will never see the best face each other

Can't remember, it always seemed to have the billing in terms of hype. Sky should have switched it to Sky sports when Braehmer had pulled out. The should have given it the Khan vs McCloskey treatment.

There will be TV all over the world taking this fight, in Denmark it costs around £60. The Germans will pay handsomely for it too. By your reckoning the average ticket price will be £50? We will see. There is a lot of revenue in this fight.

I think there will be some £40-£50-60 tickets as well as the ringside seats as well. It may well generate a bit more than what I have estimated but even if u add on another £200,000 that's still no where near covering 1 fighters purse.
Yes I agree with your points about other countries broad casting it and Denmark making it ppv. But like iv said if they never done that the fight could never be made

I would be suprised if there are any £40's. My guess would be £50, £80, £100+.

I think people may grumble because with the TV Licence and SKY Sports they are already paying fifty odd quid a month.
What would e.g. Froch and Kessler do if (hypothetically) PPV simply didn't exist? Walk away from the sport and become nuclear physicists or suck it up and take the pay cut?
Edit: BTW, I'm just playing Devil's advocate. If people are prepared to pay the piper, good on the piper.

Yeh people pay how ever much money for the sports channels but what about things like espn. And the same with the movie channels they pay an amount but then you can always buy box office films. It's the same principle if u want extra you pay for it. For me £15 is excellent value for a mega fight with a good card. How many of us buy a pizza or takeaway on a weekend and don't think twice about spending the money. I mean if you have a few of the lads round to watch it it works out a couple of pound each. Not bad at all for a full nights entertainment.
And for the other part of your message. If there was no box office then the mega fights probably wouldn't happen, or if they did sky would start upping there fees for there channels and maybe arenas would charge double?
Fair enough there are some people out there that £15 is allot of money to but if any1 is like me, you probably waste money each week on pointless thing :)

Whilst not essential, it's
fairly important to have a
fairly big name in a
fairly competitive fight as chief support. The rest of the card can be filled up with whichever prospects sell the most tickets (if there is any sort of struggle to fill the venue) or whoever comes cheapest. Same as any other big show.
