I think that Soliman is correct about the importance of the IBF belt for Geale.

Geale still doesn't have much of a profile in U.S., and the belt will go a long way in maximizing his opportunities for bouts there against top opponents. So unless he already has a big fight lined up, I think that it's wise for him to defend against Soliman.

Geale needs the IBf to land those big fights in the US and UK. I heard an interview with Sam on sport FM this arvo and I am sure he said they had a "hand shake" agreement...what ever that means nowadays. If geale was to be stripped (again) I cant see him landing any major fight overseas in the immediate future. Howvere I am confident we will see Sam v Daniel in May.

It is reported in the Sydney Morning Herald today that Daniel Geale has agreed to Sam Soliman's challenge, only thing yet to be agreed on is the date.

hard to keep up with the papers at the moment - its on it not its on again.

Hopefully it is on, Sam has done what he had to do to earn the shot and it is always good to see a champ defend against his mandatory

If a fighter who has beaten two World Champions on their home ground does not have much of a profile in the USA you have to wonder who is writing the stories.
