The whole things a shambles. I'd say theres more than a few people who need to take a good look in the mirror and then give themselves an uppercut!
If the fight was in fact reduced from 12 to 10 rounds as they "walked" to the ring, then surely this is still a breach of Botha's contract if in fact he did sign for 12 rounds? His promoter cannot just accept its now 10 rounds and not inform his charge. Botha would need to sign a new contract for 10 rounds, otherwise it makes what he originally signed invalid. Am i correct?
Surely the WBA would need to sight both participants signed contracts before agreeing to stage the WBA International title bout. I thought this was common practice? Did they sight any contracts? Or are they just sighting the $$$ going into there bank accounts. Funny how SBW always assumed it was a 10 round bout but it was apparently changed to 10 as they walked to the ring?? So he knew all a long and they decided to tell Botha minutes before the fight? Also all the advertising material etc stated 12 round title fight did Sonny fail to sight this and question it?
Could the people who attended ask for there money back as they brought tickets under the assumption it wa sa 12 round contest? So in fact have been short changed as have the people who brought it on PPV? It would be like buying tickets to a rugby or league match and then they finish playing at the 70th minute .......you'd want your money back wouldnt you? False advertising?
There are also claims of the WBA belt being made in Aussie and not being legit. Surely the WBA should be jumping all over this if thats the case. Its fraudulant.
Now theres also word that Botha did NOT in fact fail a drugs test, and its all a smoke screen to divert attention from the rest of the BS going around. Firstly how do you fail a drugs test 4 days before the bout and it only comes to light now? Also these tests if im correct in saying can take upwards of 6 weeks ot get results back as was the case with Barrett/Tua where Barrett failed a test for a stimulant.
Lastly, why dont Main Events, Foxtel, Sky TV NZ REFUSE to put on SBW fights until the characters involved in this farce are no longer involved. Therefore cutting out there PPV earning capacity. We are hearing them now saying "its not good enough etc" well quit giving them the platform to operate PPV. And in turn you'll be saving face in the long run.
PS: Interesting to hear the QLD Sanctioning body etc suggest they will be investigating. Translation, meet at the pub have a few beers and discuss who looked best on TV, how the free food at the gig was average, how many hot birds they saw on the night, whos 'shout' is it next, whens the next gig on to make a buck. And hope the rest of the BS going on fades away.
