I saw Fullmer fight live few times and he was a very crude brawler... He couldn't beat Dick Tiger in 3 tries... Li'l Emile Griffith beat Tiger twice with ease.

So Robinson took that fight gambling that he still had enough left to beat the Cretan?

Well... SRR DID win 1 of their 4 contests -- so in financial terms the fights paid off for him. The dirty, cheating Fullmer hit SRR with a lot of rabbit punches to do well in their other 3 fights. The old white farts who judged fights in those days probably counted all those shots.

wouldnt take much notice of the percentages and ratios as a fighters ko record can be misleading, theres a big difference between breaking someone down and "stopping" them and actually rendering someone unconsious, GGG for example "stops" people, where as jackson used to KO his opponents
Jackson put some down for the count and he stopped some...

Golovkin put Macklin, Ishida, and others down for the full count and more... GGG had a much higher KO ratio than Jackson -- who was overpowered by McCallum and others... GGG gets overpowered by NOBODY.

I've personally never seen a Middleweight hit harder than Julian Jackson.

I have... When Mike McCallum and Julian Jackson exchanged bombs... And when Golovkin put Ishida into intensive care with one shot... Ishida had never been stopped before.

Mike McCallum knocked Julian Jackson out in 2 rounds by ripping his body out in a furious onslaught... Tommy Hearns lost by KO in his 2 most famous fights at Middleweight... And Bennie Briscoe was blasted out with ONE SHOT by heavier handed Rodrigo Valdez -- who also is the only man to knock Carlos Monzon on his ass.

Everybody knows Gennady Golovkin is the hardest punching Middleweight ever... And that McCallum, Valdez, and Barkley ripped out a lot of people on that list.
What does Mike McCallum beating Julian Jackson or Tommy Hearns losing by KO matter? Does That mean neither can punch hard, or am I missing something? Apologies if it's obvious but you're a known simpleton so I thought I'd better ask.

I see someone still doesn't understand levels in Boxing. Jackson's KO's of Terry Norris and Herol Graham are quite possibly better than any of Golovkin's wins. Ishida is not considered one of Golovkin's best wins by anybody. It was an impressive highlight reel KO indeed, but Ishida wasn't much of a fighter.

Since your brain is so tiny it can't comprehend the simplest thing Tomasino... let me spell it out... If you engage in a slugfest and end up getting run over, pulverized, and knocked out early -- it doesn't mean you have the most fearsome power between the 2 swingers slugging it out... Instead it means that after your adversary tasted you punching power... he ate it up... kept coming like gangbusters -- and punched YOU TFO!!!

Lesson???? Don't slug-it-out with bigger, stronger, harder punchers than you are... Something Jackson and Hearns learned in those abbreviated bouts

What are you talking about? lol. :witzend: Having punching power doesn't automatically give you a tremendous chin and boxing skills.

Hearn tremendous punching power, questionable chin. Julian Jackson the same. Vlad Klit the same. Even, dare i say it, Roy Jones Jr.

Yes, your physical toughness and chin come into play... So does your skill... But the number one ingredient to win a savage slugfest is raw punching power.

It's that withering strength and power that drives the other man back.. Frazier gave ground when he faced Foreman.. That great chin didn't mean sheet

That was the only fight I was ever impressed with Foreman's prep and conditioning.. 217 hammered down pounds.. He looked ready to exchange fire.

You always deviate from the question to suit your own responses rather than staying focused on the topic. So now its who's the most physically tough, who has a chin, boxing skill and could bang rather than simply who was the hardest punching middleweight of all time. We are talking punching here.

I'm talking punching power... And I'm talking about strong chins and boxing ability... ALL allow you to knock somebody out, but power rules supreme.

If a guy has a strong chin like Frazier... and possibly stronger infighting skills... He still gets crushed by a bigger, stronger, heavier punching Foreman... Power rules in situations where 2 big punchers slug it out... i.e. McCallum-Jackson and Hagler-Mugabi ... McCallum got nailed with a thunderous Jackson right hander -- but he came back punching harder and sharper and ended it quickly... Hagler came out of his duel with a double head.. but Marv still vanquished the weaker hitter.

For pure power alone Jackson is hard to beat. The guy literally sparked fighters cold, left them twitching on the canvas, more often than not with one punch.

Nobody's ever referred to me as a 'known simpleton'.

Why don't you accept this is the opinion most around here have of you and piss off? You bring nothing but bile to the discussion.

McCallum was a bigger puncher than Julian Jackson, is that what you are saying? If so then I would place that nugget somewhere between "PEDs don't work" and "Joe Louis burned out quickly" in the long list of insane statements you have uttered on this board.

McCallum was a bigger puncher than Jackson because he ripped Jackson out of there in 2 rounds with little effort... Louis burned out quickly..the Walcott and Charles fights proved that beyond any doubt... And I don't think you're insane, just damned ignorant.
