Whats Bull shit is that your assuming promoters are raking it in , they arent m which is why the boxers are getting squeezed further down , no promoters then theres no fights , simple as that, so if a promoter is risking losing all his hard earned why should he risk more by paying the boxer more , i understand boxers deserve more , of course they do , but the reason they dont get it is because the promoters arent either , remember that a promoter is the only person on a boxing show who is really able to walk away from a show without a penny to his name .

I know a couple of promoters so at first i thought like you, but i now know that not everyone is milking the boxers as in general theres nothing to milk from them to start with .

Do you not class selling tickets as work? If you don't you've never done it. It's time consuming, and a pain in the neck. If fighters factor in how many hours they work selling and administering ticket sales, they'll begin to realise how much of an expensive hobby "professional" boxing is (for most). That's before you account for hours spent training and associated costs (trainer, manager, etc). It's an expensive sport to participate in (if you value your labour).

read the lot what i wrote they have to put money up front to get the tickets so if u get 400 tickets and you only sell 200 then you losing money other words it wont cost them money if they sell all their tickets and plus their wage

What's bullshit is you think I don't know what I'm talking about when I do , promoters very rarely walk away with nothing these days if they think they are going to they pull the plug on the show. Idiot

The whole point of being a " promoter" is to promote the boxers and the show & sell tickets! The boxers job is too box! But now they want the boxer to promote himself aswell by selling a shitload of tickets to pay his wage & opponents ! Why not just get a promoters licence and box and cut out the promoters who aren't obviously doing there job properly!!!

If promoters were left to do it that way im pretty sure there wouldnt be many shows happening , if the boxer wants to earn money then its part and parcel to be selling tickets , either that or see huge reductions in pay , im pretty sure i know which theyd prefer

Your obviously a promoter, so u think its your job to sit back , book a venue , get a few posters made a d nothing else? Boxers sell tickets anyway I'm talking about all these promoters saying oh you have to sell at least 50/100 tickets before you get a wage! Piss off man it's bullshit end off

Try costing up a small hall show – don’t go leaving out the little details that all cost money either.

Balance that again ACTUAL revenue.

Then tell me that promoters are coining it in.

Nows that’s assuming there is no contingency, no pull outs, no fall throughs, no additional unexpected expenses, injuries, yadda, yadda, yadda!!

Without TV and/or a great sponsor its extremely tight (if all goes well) to financially disastrous (if it doesn’t) to promote these shows. Massive gamble.

Out of curiosity what sort of purse would barker receive for last night ?
