I understand that that's the story. I also know that other fighters have boxed on an won with a burst eardrum. Further, I know that Price has been down fairly often as an amateur. None of these amounts to me really knowing whether he's good a decent chin or not, really. I'd like to see Chisora or someone else put a decent shot on it. I'm inclined towards believing the ear was the issue, because I think Skelton hit him harder than Thompson's innocuous shot. Not only was that on the chin, though, he also saw it coming. There are a number of variables.

DeGale vs that Pole he fought after Groves is an example. I think Price's shot resistance in general is poor. DeGale has showed he can take a shot in the pros and ams where as Price has looked seriously vunerable in both

Besides, couldn't you argue that the fact that they are both coming off a KO loss makes this fight more meaningful? If you'd be KO'd, wouldn't you want to set it right in your next fight?

Froch also fought on with a burst eardrum in a number of fights, the last one being Johnson.

Why didn't he go down like a pissed-up Bambi like Price if getting your eardrum pop is like some sort of automatic short-circuit that puts men down regardless of what their chin is like? Oh yeah, that's right - because he has good punch resistance.

Price himself knows he has a poor chin, he's admitted as much. It doesn't stop me wanting to see him go to the very top, as sceptical as I am about his chances of doing so.
