Good to see Eurosport showing some live stuff (wonder if any of the British promoters have tried negotiating with them?), but what a farcical event. Solis is an extreme disappointment for me, bordering on embarrassing. The guy has/had serious skills. Olympic gold medallist - Savon was mentioned earlier on the thread, well Solis beat him twice as a kid. If this guy really wanted it he could be a real threat, and have at least as much success as Haye has done as a heavyweight. But he's grossly overweight, and until he changes that he goes nowhere. He should be weighing between 205-220. 255+ is just disgraceful.

He's only 32 so it's not too late, but he I don't see him going anywhere unless he gets a new trainer/manager/promoter who reads him the riot act and forces him to changes his lifestyle. What a waste.

If he couldn't get himself in shape for Vitali, I doubt he will ever have the drive.

Train like a pro 7 days a week from the age of 9 like these Cuban guys do and see how much desire and fight you have left when you hit 30!

Now chuck in suddenly leaving this spartan existence and having access to all these luxuries when you defect and I can see why Cuban fighters might take their eye off the ball when they leave Cuba and turn pro.

Sure, it's a waste of talent but I can't get too angry at these chaps.

I suppose he's won Olympic gold for his country so has hit the sporting pinnacle.

Defecting and turning pro was probably always for the money and luxuries rather than the glory.

not alot of the main promoters touch Cuban heavies now, they've see to many fail

I just read that 13 is the age of consent in spain. I cant find any legitimate sources saying he is a convinted peadophile. Im not saying he isnt but if he isnt then thats pretty slanderous.

Age of consent in Spain is 13, i am lead to believe that is because of a lot of gyspy marriages, there is a big gyspy population here especially in the south
