There are lots of people who give their time for nothing who are definitely not compromised mate i.e Inspectors running about for expenses and Area Council Members who give up their Sundays and other days free of Charge so who are these compromised people you are talking about coz they are definitely not in the Midlands that I can guarantee
I think leforge may be reffering to the main Board in Cardiff.
He probably is mate but he should have said that instead of casting dispersions as a whole I can honestly say I dont personally know anybody on the board anywhere who is compromised in any way but I may be wrong and if it is the case and if it is true they want rooting out immeadiately

I have been in e.mail correspondence with John Sheppard on this matter.

The event is legally sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation and I have requested that BoxRec list this as such.

The German Boxing Federation (GBA) is also not a member of the EBU or recognised by them or the BBBofC yet BoxRec are happy enough to have them listed as sanctioning an event in Malta on the same date, so can't understand the stance that is being taken by BoxRec against Luxembourg sanctioned events.

The EBU is a Championship Sanctioning organisation and not a governing body, to be a member a countries recognised professional boxing organisation must apply for membership, it's not an automatic right or requirement to sanction professional boxing.

Also it should be noted that Luxembourg had their EBU membership revoked because they had licensed David Haye and Dereck Chisora, not because they sanctioned an event in the UK - The BBBofC case was that neither Haye or Chisora should be licensed due to highly publicised fracas at Klitschko-Chisora

Now that both Haye and Chisora are once again licensed by the BBBofC that whole sage should be put to bed and BoxRec should provide the event with it's rightful listing as sanctioned and not the totally misleading and deliberately highlighted NOT SANCTIONED status

Hopefully this matter will be resolved and the event will be be listed as what it it is - a legally sanctioned event - for the sakes of the professionally licensed boxers that are taking part in the event.

Thanks for that Rio. It highlights the hypocritical stance that BoxRec have taken on this show and doesn’t do much for their credibility as it comes across as petty. Your post clears up a few questions but also raises a few which you or others may be able to answer.

Are the LBF still outside the auspices of the EBU? Can they reapply now that they no longer licence Haye or Chisora? What is the likelihood of them getting back in?

Also what are the ramifications for EBU licence holders for fighting on this show if LBF are not in the EBU.

Whilst at this time the LBF are not recognised by the EBU or the BBBofC, they have been invited by Bob Logist, President of the EBU, to reapply for membership, which should they do so will be voted on at the EBU AGM on May 31st.

Since the BBBofC case was that both David and Dereck should not be licensed because of their behaviour at the Klitschko-Chisora press conference, but have themselves since relicensed them both at the earliest opportunity, I expect the LBF to receive support from the majority of EBU member countries

Also as the vote will be by a show of hands, which is the norm on member applications, rather than the highly dubious way they voted them out last year - with a member country's vote based on number of listed fighters, how many EBU events etc, which gave the 'Big 3' UK 54 Votes, Germany 34 votes and Switzerland 24 votes and made it impossible for the LBF and the twelve member Countries that voted in support of the LBF - I would expect that the LBF would quite easily be voted back into the EBU should they decide to reapply.

Although there are mainly BBBofC licensed fighters on the show, there are various European licensed boxers - Irish, Spanish and Maltese - also on the show.

All foreign licensed boxers are taking part in the event with the blessing of their sanctioning bodies. However BBBofC General Secretary Robert Smith has informed some of the BBBofC licensed boxers, managers and trainers that, just as they did for Haye-Chisora, that if they take part in the event they will be bought before the board for a disciplinary hearing - although bear in mind not one boxer that took part on Haye-Chisora were disciplined.

Sort of, I provide additional publicity whenever there is a TRAD TKO fighter on an event or we are selling tickets through our TKO Box Office website - in this case both, as TRAD TKO fighters Marianne Marston and Francis Maina, as well as Dean Byrne is a good friend that I always give a little publicity support for, and of course tickets are available at http://tkoboxoffice.com

I still even now find all this LBF situation interesting .

For example what exactly could the board do as with regards to discipining license holders who take part ?

I remember Lee Kellet saying on here that he got a fine for doing the Biggers better tournament without permission of the board , so id imagine the same applies , but on what grounds is this and is it justifiable ?

Also id imagine if a boxer had a LBF license the board would probably not grant them permission to box on a BBBoC licensed event , but surely this would be discrimination under EU rules

What is the benefit of being licensed by LBF instead of BBBoC ? obviously this show is sanctioned by the LBF so im assuming the promoter has an LBF license ???

I presume its cheaper to be licensed by LBF but I dont know whether the Medical Criteria for Boxers is as strict as the BBBOFC because as you know The Medical Criteria is very strict to get a board licence albeit expensive

I have to say as they did not take any action against any BBBofC licensed boxer who fought on Haye-Chisora I wouldn't be sure what steps they would take.

The only other example of discipline, regarding a British boxer and a foreign sanctioning organisation, that comes to mind was Ashley Theophane received a short suspension - not sure but think it was three months - of his British license, for fighting on another countries license.

Probably not, but I don't think Luxembourg has licensed many British fighters other than David Haye and Dereck Chisora, I think if it was a LBF licensed Luxembourg national I would think that they would still give them permission to box here.

I believe that all professional boxing national sanctioning bodies have the same medical/scan requirements, the only difference in costs would probably be, that as everything is so expensive here in the UK, that the costs of medicals and scans are cheaper in most other countries.

On the sanctioning fees, the LBF fees tend to be much lower, as are most European countries, also the LBF are less strict on matters other than those purely related to boxing - the BBBofC have restrictions on all areas of a show, not just what goes on within the ring.

As such I can see that these can make it very attractive for promoters to go with another sanctioning board, whether that is the LBF or any other European sanctioning body.

Dont think you are correct there mate I know of plenty of Boxers who have been refused or lost licences here because of scan irregularities but have got licences elsewhere in Europe etc

Yes, that's true, but only because the BBBofC do not take outside advice from independent Neurosurgeons on appeal.

I know of two very recent refusals by the BBBofC due to a scan irregularities, both now have licenses with EBU member countries sanctioning organisations - by the way in both cases with the very same scan as submitted to the BBBofC - in both cases reports were submitted by independent Neurosurgeons, in one case from two independent Neurosurgeons and the other three, stating that the scan irregularity is none harmful (one was a birthmark - not sure on the other) yet the BBBofC still refused to change their position at the appeal, however other EBU member countries boards were happy to issue licenses because of the additional reports from the independent Neurosurgeons.

I think the point here is once the board refuse a license they just don't go back on their decision, which to be fair is their prerogative, not that the other countries have lower standards when it comes to scans.

Biggers better is a bit like a cheaper version of prizefighter , takes place in europe ( malta , cyprus etc etc) , some of the guys are ex kickboxers having their first bout but some are experienced boxers , they have steve smoger as ref on a lot of them but i think the BBBoC consider it unsanctioned for one reason or another .

Absolutely true, this came about after the BBBofC wrote to the Luxembourg Embassy.

Interestingly the BBBofC have been highly active trying to prevent this event happening, I have been privy to various pieces of correspondence and have to say just as with the Haye-Chisora saga they really are very good at 'twisting' the truth to exert pressure on people not to be involved, whether that is sanctioning organisations like the LBF or fighters, even overseas opponents have been pressured into not taking part.

However it will be taking place and it will be legally sanctioned.

If it is legally sanctioned and proper medical provisions are in place of course the show can go on I dont know much about the LBF but I presume they have inspectors etc to monitor weigh ins and procedures ? Do they travel from Luxembourg ?

Yes, and it will be sanctioned by a major European governing body.

'Major'? Interesting. Thought it was going to be something about as minor as one can get, like Malta or something.

No, The Malta Boxing Commission were not even approached, this is very much 'Major' organisation.

The BBBoc Probably think that if a smaller show can happen in this way that it will seriously undermine their authority , its not like the F W arren situation with all the legal side and that it was big name boxers etc , this is your average show , if they can manage to avoid the BBBoC it could maybe open the floodgates
