Obviously, SN are keeping this well under wraps, but there's rumours Pinto can't make the weight.

Oh........no.

His chances are looking slimmer by the day at this rate.

I'd have thought Frank had a spare body on standby for this sort of potential disaster? I really hope this guys turns up, who know what sort of bum FW will dig up at this type of notice.

There's no way anyone can blame Warren if Pinto cannot make weight, he must be going bloody spare if that's the case.

The last time Pinto made 10 stone, was February 2003. He was over for the big Augustus fight last June (a 10-rounder granted and he wasn't much over) - but look at what he weighed for his fight with Arturo Reyes in 2002!

I really hope this isn't going to fall through, I will be pig sick, and it will be very bad luck for Ricky.

You know that Boxing News are going to want a straight answer pretty sharpish anyway, deadline is around about now innit? No good putting in a preview/front page of Hattons biggest fight when in 24 hours we could all know for sure that Pinto isn't fighting.

Someone needs a bloody good kick in the bollex.

I doubt anyone at SN are saying weight problems are they bennie?
Maybe it's a visa problem, or a cocked up flight booking etc..

If it was weight you'd think he'd just step into a sauna for an hour or so - bad idea I know, but that's what they usualy do isn't it?

I wonder what sort of condition Junior`s in at the moment?

Here`s a few names that would appese....

Soulyman M`baye

Gianluca Branco

"Jesse" james Leija

Omar Wiess

Lovemore Ndou

Any of these guys would be adaquate replacements on such short notice.

no fighter with any ambition or prospect of getting near a world title fight is possibly going to come in at 2 days notice, forget it.

I was just about to file my pre-fight prediction too, now I don't know what to do...

Tell me about it. I did the Pinto preview. Boxing News have heard the same unconfirmed rumours.

I'd be more than happy with Branco but lets face it you've got no chance of getting a top 10 light-welterweight to fight at little more than 48 hours notice.

I seriously doubt Mitchell would go for it unless he was hugely compensated.

You know the ins and outs of matchmaking, knockout. What would you say to rumours that Pinto never even signed a contract for this fight? Because that's what I've also heard.

He's six foot, so should be pretty thinned out anyways.

I don't think any of those names would want to take on Hatton on two days' notice. They might think they can beat him, but they'd have to be in fighting shape and look to go 12 hard rounds.

Get the guy over and make it catchweight, declare Hatton the technical winner anyway, just let them get someone decent in there.

Flying and the associated pressure takes a couple of days to get out of your system and get swelling back down (it does for me anyway). If he's having trouble making weight then sitting in a plane for umpteen hours is going to do nothing for him.

Would probably dehydrate him, which under the circumstances would be a bonus!

What's this about no contract being signed?

Ah well, it's looking like the biggest fights this weekend are Trujillo v Burton and Lopez v Ravelo on CH5/ESPN2.

Well the SN press conference has been posponed today ( I should know i just turned up and there was about 6 people there but nobody from SN :) .

Not had the official reason yet, but if Pinto isnt here yet tommorow has to be the cut off, nobody can be jet lagged and fight at that level surely.

Now, that's a very good question.
(Incidentally, I was looking at the wrong weights on Pinto's record earlier, embarrassingly enough; yes, he did make the weight).

No, I wasn't being facetious, J. The weigh-in will tell us for sure.
