It was not a Free TV Card,

It was a Closed Circuit Theatre purchase.

I remember not wanting to pay to see another pathetic Muhammad Ali bout, "Rip-Off-The-Public-Again'.

The bout was originally scheduled for Saturday Night, December 5th.

But the date was changed to Friday Night, December 11th, as there was a better opportunity for a larger
Closed Circuit purchase, as there was too much Free Television competition from College Sports Programming.

As usual, Muhammad Ali 'flopped'. He had nothing left after the 1st Round.

In typical Muhammad Ali 'fashion', he was hoping the Judges would save another bout for him.......... :shame:
I didn't think it was televised at all.

I meant in the states. It wasn't where I lived, but that was in a small town near Boston and even at 11 years old I knew Ali was finished. I've seen it as well, I don't offer up cards on fights I don't watch.

Do you honestly believe that Muhammad Ali should have been in the ring that night,,,,,,,

He was not in-shape, and it was an utter 'rip-off'.

He took $1,100,000 for that bout,,,,,,,

The Drama in Bahama.........should have been called 'Nausea in Nassua'.

Lets stay with the facts,,,,,,,,December 1981.

Don't bring up 'tired and old' history.
If he wasn't there to try win, why on earth did he stay in there for 10 violent rounds?

For fun?

No I don't believe he should have been in the ring, but how many heavyweight champions have retired at a sensible time? You can count them on one hand.

Ali was no different to the rest and he was obviously sincere in believing he could win the fight.

Anyone else watched this and have an opinion on the scoring?
5-4-1 is pretty reasonable. Though 97-94 is actually only 1 round going to Berbick than to Ali. Horrible fight. Ali would occasionally land a little flurry or a jab. However, Berbick was not doing much more. There were several close rounds; which on this forum automatically goes to the other guy with many people on this forum. Anyway, it was a little closer than the judges had it, but in the grand scheme of things not that important.
