Fury-Cunningham is much better.

I don't see how it was much better. Mollo-Szpilka had multiple knockdowns and momentum changes prior to the stoppage, good exchanges, and an equally brutal finish.

Both were top HW fights though.

Did anyone see the singing in the ring afterwards? I love Fury!! Pure moments of comedy mixed with a watchable gung ho style, gets caught, gets back up again.

So what, he aint perfect, but he's got bags of heart and he has got some punch resistance to get back up when he's been hurt. I kept thinking, would David Price have got back up? WOuld price have took some of the other digs he took tonight even?

People get obsessed with perfection, he aint perfect but he CAN win a world title at some point, he won't beat a Klitschko though.

Fury is about as good at singing as he is boxing....

I'm sorry that statement cannot be allowed to go unchallenged. Though this admittedly was a fun fight, Povetkin/Huck was goddamn epic and smokes it.

Price would of been out after about the 5th shot Cunningham landed..... LITERALLY!

I forgot about Povetkin-Huck. That's the best HW fight I can recall seeing in the last few years.

i dont think the KD was that hard, he went down like that against whats his face, you can see his eyes on the replay they are completely clear, he took his time to get up like he should do but im fairly certain he could have got up straight away if he had wanted to.

Haye v Chisora was also alot better. It was a very good fight though a bit too much leaning and holding for my liking but much of that was cunninghams fault he sat on furys chest alot of the fight, so i dont think it was all fury.

after that I had various bets - all Cunningham, pound on the draw at 40-1. I'd have been happy if I'd won and he put up a brilliantly gutsy effort against a much bigger opponent so no complaints. The bulk of my bets was Cunningham in rounds 1-3 and Cunningham in rounds 9-12, both @50-1......That 2nd round Knockdown was interesting

I thought the referee in that fight was pro-Fury early on, kept giving him little chats for a bloody breather - although the point deduction disproved that theory.

He is bigger than most. Not always by such a huge difference as last night though. Cunningham is tiny considering his height. He isn't even a blown up cruiser, just a cruiser.

Enjoyed every minute of it. More entertaining than the last 10 wlad or vitali fights ive seen. And Furys interviews before and after just top it off :)

Cunningham was 210 lbs, that is over the cruiserweight limit.

Fighting a blown up world class cruiserweight with a win against a top 10 heavyweight in his previous fight (according to most people's scorecards) is better than beating some less proven, less talented, but bigger heavyweight.

I'm not knocking his opponent. I don't hate Fury. Quite the opposite. These are things Fury fans ( I consider myself one ) seem to think everyone who doesn't champion him blindly are guilty of.

Cunningham isn't a banger, and despite the drama of last nights knockdown, I didn't think Tyson was close to being stopped and he actually threw plenty back with interest in the same round.

I don't go much on Adamek either at heavyweight. Not good enough to bridge the physical disadvantage he encounters, which is the same as Cunningham really.

Next up for Tyson I would like to see someone like Helenius ( very winnable fight for Tyson )maybe, or Pulev ( would be a tough assignment for Fury this one ). The Klits would be a step too far for him right now ( and in the future unless Wlad slides hugely )

Hopefully he gets back out sharpish.

Glad he won, although overall I thought he looked poor. He has boxed much better than that in recent fights. I think a lot of it was down to trying too hard to make impression on the US TV audience (as well as a decent opponent).

I also feel that not having his uncle in the corner was an issue as well (its not been mentioned too much). I don't know how much they'll be looking to fight in the US in future, but if they do, it looks like they'll have to leave Peter behind.

He boxed far better than that against Johnson.

Fair play to him for coming forward after the knockdown, changing gameplan and marching his man down with his hands held high, but he needs to learn to cool his head in there- I was worried as soon as he started with the shit-talking in the 1st round and so it proved: his concentration is poor.

On the plus side, he showed good stamina, improved physical strength and power, an ability to fight up close and bravery (if not a great chin). What he really needs is to stop getting carried away with the occasion. I suspected he was going to going to suffer for not having Peter Fury in his corner when the match was made in the US.

Peter will never be allowed into America.

Cunningham pulled a Neven Pajkic when he decked Fuy in the second round, but the size difference was too much to overcome. At least Pajkic was closer to Fury in weight at 232, and he has a better chin. Maybe if the ring had been larger Cunningham could've overcome some of the size difference with movement. Was it even 20 feet? The American was a definite underdog going in. Thirty-six years old and 12 years in the most brutal sport against a 24 year old behemoth who hasn't been in any real wars.

If Cunningham was younger and quicker and possessed real championship power, the fight would've been over in the second round. There are no first-class heavyweights around today. The best we have to offer is Wlad Klitschko. Everyone after him is second-rate.

Yes, if Cunningham was super amazing he would have beaten Fury easily.

I wouldnt class myself as a Fury can but to be honest I will always watch his fights. He is entertaining.

All that nonsense with the singing and his ridiculous comments etc definitely make me laugh. Cant argue with that.

Fury got badly exposed last night, he made Steve Cunningham look like Floyd Mayweather for most of the fight.
