I'm not massively clued up on the track, but isn't it a traditional song that's been hijacked into a provo IRA song ?

If they saved a fair bit of money by not having the best presentation possible then they did the right thing. The less it costs them, the more likely they are to keep showing boxing.

Boxing from the Garden, prime time on a Saturday night on free tele and some people didn't see enough ring walk or weren't happy James Degale doesn't know as many big words as boring Hugh Mcilvanney. He was enthusiastic, he might not have been able to articulate everything he saw but I bet he could duck and counter it, which these whingers couldn't...

DeGale was on to plug himself to the Fury audience ahead of James' next fight on Channel 5. C5 Shouldnt have left him there on his own to bat all questions and should have had someone else in there to soak up some of the pressure. I thought it was pretty unfair of them to do that.

Looking at the lyrics, there's nothing particularly offensive in there, it mentions joining the IRA, but it refers to the IRA of the war of independence, not the IRA of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.

They showed both fighters' walk in! I understand people's gripes with the production but it's the fight I wanted to see. Channel 5 isn't a high budget channel and the fact that they've sunk what they do have into showing the Fury fight is commendable, it's a bonus for fight fans, particularly those without Sky Sports or allegedly. I'm not complaining!

It's a traditional Irish ballad about the Easter Uprising of 1916. Anyone who's offended by it is a moron. Peace!

Presentation is an important peice of the package, tho.
Boxing needs a bit of razzle dazzle and personify to pull in the punters. Ring walks and coherent pundits are a bit part of that.
They will get it right eventually

Thought the show was absolutely fine to be honest. Obviously helped by the fact they had an exciting fight to show.
Must say I didn't watch any of the studio bit really as flicked over from Sky and then straight back following the Fury win. The only bit of the studio stuff I saw was the next day after hearing about Fury singing in the ring I went back to watch that bit and so saw Degale wetting himself in the studio afterwards about Furys voice
