What about Monte Barrett, or do you think it's too soon for Audley? It's a fight I could see him winning.

He holds a win over Wladmir Klitschko but is now 37 and possibly past his best.
I must admit, I'm no expert when it comes to heavyweights. Is Purrity too good? Or will Audley simply be fighting a fellow European?
A "good name" won´t box on May 8. For a 12-rounder you need 2-3 months training if you take this sport serious. Öner and Sauerland won´t let Sam box that soon and risk the 3rd loss in a row. I think on May 8 Harrison will fight chickenshit as he did in the past.

He should cancel this date and box in July against a big EBU-name like e.g. Sam, maybe in Germany, and should forget the WBF-belt. Who gives a fornicate on the WBF?

Lets put it this way it means he is guranteed opponents who will fight 12rounds. In a title defence he has to fight 12rounds, there aint many bums out there who will sign for a 12rounder, its a sh1t title but with it he has increased the level of opponents who will want to fight him. Simple. I dont expect the opponent to be sh1t but I dont expect the opponent to ge great. Steffen Nielsen will do me fine if only because he is ranked so highly by the EBU.

agree with schultzy on this one. brushing aside another journeyman proves or improves nothing.
he has got to start testing himself from now on with fights gradually increasing in difficulty until he gets to klitschko.
sam in july sounds about right to me.

Completely agree, but thats what he's done in his 3 year proffesional career so far. Why all the sudden opinion that because he's got a worthless belt he'll change. He fought a nobody to win the title - why not continue with the path he's on.

Many guys say that Harrison is a prospect or someone who is able to be one of the best in heavyweight. First of all you must see that this guy is almost 33 years old. He is not under the best 15 in the rankings of WBA,WBC,IBF,WBO or EBU. If he continues "his plan" for the next 3 years he would not have won any important title. I think he needs a good promoter for the future. Two possibilities: USA or Germany. Harrison should be able to fight for a real title in 2005. If he goes on like he did in the past he will not improve.

He should give up this WBF-shit and fight e.g. Sam in July and Luan Krasniqi in Oktober. If he wins both he would be the biggest number in Europe beside the K´s and then at the end of the year he should fight e.g. Mesi, Gomez or Toney. And only if he beats one of these he would be able to fight for a real title in 2005, maybe in Summer). If he fights another 2-4 bums in a row (like he did 15 times) he will not become a real champ.

He is likely to be fighting in the USA again soon, he's already been over there. I think Harrison genuinely believes he can win a real belt, and he's made it clear that is his intention, if he fails to deliver, then that's another matter..

Firstly stop calling any fighters bums. Not very good or he needs to up his level of opponnent is far more respectful. These guys do train and take pain for a living at least give them that their dues.

Bubi he is biding his time mate, he hasnt enough experience yet, be fair the bloke ahs publicly stated that he is learning and expects to step it up. The WBF being the first rung on the ladder as it gives him European status.
He has been frozen out by Warren in the Brit scene so this why he has gone the WBF route and also has publicly stated that he doesnt consider it a world belt. He knows its worth.
He also knows he doesnt have the experience / goods to mix it with the top class yet.
He is 32 not 33 so he has 2 years to reach the top status gain enough experience and has also publicy stated that he owuld expect to be at the top for more than 18 months due to his age.
To me the guy is being very honest and up front about it all, which is very refreshing so get off his back and give him a break.
He will challenge for a decent title within the next 2 years.

thanks Frehiet and fo the record I thought your fellow countryman displayed immense courage in the ring on Sat. Total credit to the sport coming in at such late notice, he could have quit at the end of the 4th and no-one would have complained (when he got caught with a body shot that echoed round the arena) but showed huge guts (and balls) to get up and keep going til the 6th.

That second body shot had him really gasping for air, and many fighters coming in at short notice would have figured they had done enough for a payday at that point, hats off to him.

exactly I actually turned to my brother and was saying dont get up, please dont get up.

Hey J, take it easy. I respect every boxer for what he is doing. But on the other hand every boxer is free to decide if he is good enough or not. Anyway you must regard Harrison a litle more objective. I just say he must stop fighting "not that good boxers" because of his age. He must change his plan and should not waste his time in managing and promoting himself.

As an objective observer I must say that Harison did not prove anything. O.k. he won a gold medal. Harrison was maybe too old when he went pro. So why should he now waste time in fighting "not that good boxers"?

He should start fighting good boxers. This is my message. Time is running.

Hey Bub, Aud is ranked in the top 15 EBU, he was 16 before he fought Hersisia who was ranked 12th, that may even put him top 10. After hearing Nielsen aint gonna be the opponent I really cant think who it will be.

Bubi, Audley is 32 which is reasonaby young for a HW these days, IMO he should have at least another 3 years in him which is pleanty of time to become World Champion, although he won't be able to have along reign at the top. The reason he is fighting "not that good boxers" is because he is learning the pro game the same as every other prospect (why is he different?). This is my message, Krasniqi look out cuz Audleys coming to get ya

I think you will be right. There is no March-ranking yet. he ranks 16 in February.

BTW there is a Sam-fight scheduled for June 5th in Chemnitz. So it won´t be Sam. Maybe the next fight of Harrison will be postponed.

Not much there if he want's to challenge someone above him. Bhaktov, Williams and Sprott are all with Warren, which just leaves Levin, Sam or Klitschko, who are all probably non-starters too. Might have to look to the States

Yeah I have a feeling it may be an American, or a non-European. Tomasz Bonin could have been a fight to cement himself in the top 10 before challenging Samm, Sprott, Levin or Williams. The only available (not with FW and not woth a fight scheduled soon) boxers in the EBU rankings are Vladimir Virchis, Rene Monse, Cyril Seror, Balu Sauer. I hope it will be one of these guys because he needs to be climbing these rankings, he needs to be the next Mandatory challenger for the EBU title. Virchis certainly looks a good test and certainly would be a step up in class

Yep, can't see it being a name - looking forward to seeing more a Levin vs Jeremy Williams, I hope he picks up his motivation cause the Levin is talented.

Levin in my eyes is as good as any of the prospects out there. Hope he wins as he deserves to be up there. Iv seen him box and he is very talented.

I think Audley Harrisons next opponent should be Karriem Respress!
