Yeah he's the best on bucksnation. Someone has no doubt asked him to stop saying "John" at the end of every remark - thank god, and he's now much easier to listen to.

When he's training/managing a high level boxer who is televised there has to be a little conflict of interest; no one could believe 100% whatever he said about Scott Quigg for instance; Barry wears too many hats to be a Sky pundit.
I don't think it would matter to Sky, Quigg is not on Sky and Frampton is. They've had Barry as a ringside analyst for Frampton and Quigg in the past.

He might not be everyone's favourite, but for me Barry McGuigan and Jim Watt are icons of British boxing and also icons of Boxing in the media. People might state that BBC Football without Alan Hansen would be better and he might not be worth the rediculous money he is on - but he is also just part of football media. Without meaning to disrespect the likes of Jamie Moore (who does a fine job) its the likes of Barry and Watt who might help with the ratings

It was Barry Jones and not McGuigan that was calling the Afolabi-Huck card for allegedly, right? If so, I thought he was absolutely abysmal. His round-by-round scoring makes my country's own Teddy Atlas look like Chuck Giampa. I'm basing that entirely on the Woge-Sek fight...I caught an Argentine broadcast of the main event.

Also, who was his partner for that one? I always have trouble putting names with voices for the occasional British broadcast I watch, Jim Watt aside.

I dont always agree with his opinions on whats occuring in a fight as its happening, however I like him a lot as a person. He comes across as a good fella and like others have mentioned, he says what he really thinks. He isnt a cheerleader.
