I honestly feel that the Bute result has made Carl think he is a world class destroyer when he isn't really. Kessler is a big strong man and hit Magee with withering punches without loading up. Froch wasn't sympathetic to Magee going over to body punches and I feel this will come back and bite him on his arse. For Carl to win he must box and forget about a stoppage.
I think Kessler is on the downgrade and I genuinely believe Froch is at his peak, I think Froch now is the best Froch ever. And that Bute stoppage was world class, the way he landed at will. Miranda and Bika aren't soft punchers and they didn't come close.
But Andrade did and he was a very average slugger.

I like froch but he needs to pipe down and worry about the fight ahead of him. Everyone heard him say how he gave Kessler advice to beat magee so its very hippocritical of him to call out groves/cleverly who are clearly doing whats best for there career.
Anyone know any info about groves getting knocked out in sparring? I know froch dropped him early in his career but never heard the ko stroy?

Boxing is an individual sport everyone is a potential rival, I don't blame groves or cleverly sparring with kessler one bit, if it improves them

Froch has always had a chip on his shoulder about something and he's spouting shit yet again. He always seems to feel like the world is against him and owes him a favour.
Come on Kessler!

I'm a Froch fan, but his comments Re: Groves and Cleverly sparring Kessler are ridiculous.
As someone has already said on this thread, it's an individual sport and nationality doesn't matter a jot.
Froch is actually quite a defensive character, a little too touchy. He once confronted Jim Watt and had a real hatred for him, after Watt criticised his style when he was British champion.

Froch is my favourite British fighter since Lennox Lewis based on his sheer ballsiness and level of opposition, not to mention the fact that he's one of those incredibly rare fighters who's managed to overcome a glaring lack of speed with cleverness and unorthodoxy.
But this whole episode is a great reminder of why he's never made it as a crossover star despite an array of hugely significant and exciting fights as well as plenty of domestic coverage. He comes across as too sour, arrogant and humourless to be a hero, and he's too boring to be a villain (maybe it will turn out that he does his own strong-arm debt collecting when his tenants don't pay up and he'll finally make it as a heel). His appearance on Jonathan Ross was an embarrassingly po-faced reminder of how hard he is to sell as a personality.
Life being a big fat sack of unfair, this 'public personality' stuff matters a great deal to making it big. Even Amir Khan and Calzaghe, two gifted boxers that you would hardly call charismatic in terms of their spoken ouvre, have more that an editor can make a story of - the Olympic wonderkid with flash cars and a loyal contingent of fans, the shy retiring genius from the Welsh valleys trained by his father. Froch enjoys property investment and his girlfriend is hot, and uh, he doesn't believe in medicine...

I was with Cleverly yesterday (alongside Calzaghe ... yes I'm name dropping) and he had a noticeable 'black eye'. I asked him whether Kessler caused it and he said yes. However, I asked him (based on the sparring) as to who he thinks will win and he said Froch. Cleverly didn't really rate Kessler's power.
Also it looks like Booth and Cleverly got on really well ....

Tony Bellew. Closed doors session last week that was apparently top draw.

I'm surprised so many people think the same way as i do that UK pro boxers don't represent some unified UK team so going to spar a top quality boxer in prep for a major fight is an offer too good to turn down.
Froch's chip on his shoulder has played a good part in his overachievement and these opinions are just another unfortunate product of it.
I think he takes Kessler as he just seems to be a deteriorated version of himself now and not physically robust enough for Froch who seems to be at his peak now. I don't think for a minute he'll try to bumrush Kessler like he did Bute but applying pressure in his usual boxer puncher style should be enough. I'm predicting a fight that is close until 4 or 5 rounds when Froch gets a TKO mid to late or wins all the late rounds each wider than the last for a clear decision.

I think this is just designed to set up some decent domestic paydays win or lose (especially if he loses) against Kessler.

Made me chuckle actually old selective memory Froch is allowed to call them a pair of backstabbing pudenda if he wants too. Nothing wrong with a bit of needle. 'George is not my friend!' Nice fight for the future!
In fact this bit of bad blood has added an extra dimension to the Kessler fight, that's some quality sparrin partners showing ambition and 'how did Kessler handle the pair of them' still life in the old dog yet?

Says it all about "world champion" Nathan Cleverly, that he is still being used as a sparring partner.

I think when people becoming three time world champions, then they can critise what Froch does/says on a build up to a fight

I suppose Carl has a lot of stuff to be bitter over...still....is he not getting paid enough ? Not many fighters would have complained about something like this - of course Clev and Groves would jump at the chance to spar a talent like Kessler - great idea. ( Clev has a great chin, as Kessler can definitely hit )
And Froch referrencing the time he dropped Groves in sparring, when he'd had about 5 fights, is a cheap shot.
Maybe he's just getting in the right mind for taking on one of them later this year.

Hopefully Froch is so mad, that he's in the mood where he can take out all three of them!

Am I right or wrong? But I must add it is a mark of a Champion to come back from defeat.
Doesn't mean you are allowed to talk rubbush and get away with it.

I'm surprised that Kessler choose another matchroom fighter to spar with. Groves could be giving Froch some sound advice now.
I think Kessler would be the type of guy who will hold things back in Sparring. So not sure I would 100% agree with Clev's prediction based on the power factor.
