If my memory serves Kell Brook had a WBO world title eliminator with the winner (suppposedly) being Manny Pacquiao when he defended his British title against Michael Jennings a former British champion who got steamrollered by Miguel Cotto. However Brook did not get his shot at Pacquiao because Pacquiao's advisors saw Brook as an unknown fighter who was very little reward for high risk and he also beat Krzysztof Bienias in another WBO eliminator prior to that. Plus he has also had two IBF eliminators with Carson Jones who gave him an utter fright and then Saldivia in a final eliminator to get the shot at Alexander which he could not take because of all his injury problems and Alexander's bicep going as well.

He will get his shot eventually but he needs to look good against Carson Jones first.

It must be frustrating for Brook as it's frustration for the fans.; I'm not wholly sold on him to be honest and his last bout did not ought to be an eliminator - the fellow was nowhere near the league needed to show Brook was ready to mix with the divisions elite. Kell ought to careful v Jones who is not afraid of Brook or his power and is stronger; though Jones looked uninspired last time out he will be really up for the Brook rematch, if it weren't for Brooks' run of injuries Jones wouldn't have ever got the call again.

Taking the easiest path to a title, then defending it and marketing your guy as a top level fighter. It's what's been going on in boxing promoting since day one?
What allegedly does you mean that everyone criticises him for? Its funny how when Eddie does it, its being a good promoter and when FW does it, its robbing the fans. Its the same fornicating thing!

You certainly have a point there.

That was my point. At least he's being criticised for it here.

Brook Jones 2 is not a bad comeback fight.
It's just a bit frustrating when some people clearly have an agenda. Glad it's not just me!

Did you feel that Alexanders point that if Brook suffered continued strain problems he ought to examine the reasons why and amend his training routine (I think it were in the Boxing News interview) was valid?

Common sense agrees with him. Although i wouldn't class 'continued' as 2. I would also be more worried if it was the same place he was injuring, but yes if he continued to pick up strains then it should be looked at. I'm sure it has been.

considering he's supposed to have all these top sports scientists working for him it's a bit of joke to be honest that he keeps getting injured.

I think there is a distinction from 'keeps getting injured' to the reality that he got injured twice.

The same guys who got him in incredible shape for the Saldivia fight, injury free? I am on the side of coincidence personally, but should it keep happening I would change that opinion.

9 year career - two injuries.
Good job it's not Barker getting fired at FFS.

How do you know he was in amazing shape? The fight didnt last long enough to tell us anything about his conditioning.

How do you know he's only had two injuries within that time period? A lot of them you wouldnt even know about.

Well then by that reasoning every fighter in the world could be secretly injury prone.

I wish someone would calculate just how much its cost Brook/Matchroom financially.
It would put an end to this incessant bollocks that they have ducked Alexander.
Kell is a professional fighter why because he is good at it and loves to fight and its his job.
He would fight anyone you will not find anything anywhere to disprove that he is one game kid.
Boxing is a business as we are continually reminded .
There is no way that the Hearn/Brook have benefitted in anyway not financially or in positioning for bigger paydays.
Theyve been through hoops to get the shot spent thousands in promotion and training
convinced Sky to push Brook .Kells trained his c.unt out spent christmas away from his kid and had too
endure Podgy Purdy embarrass him self in his place.
All for the princely sum of fuc all
Kell has yet to prove his worthy of his hype i will agree with that and i still believe he will.

But people should seriously consider how much the lads suffered dissapointment time and again.
Let him at least get back on his feet (no pun intended) and fighting again.
Then critique him he will divide opinion all the good ones do.
