Yep, he outworks them all.... he might even beat Matthysse.... If Hatton was inspired as he was against Tszyu (although technically not his best performance) how does Matthysse react after 4/5/6 rounds when Matthysse is throwing his bombs and they are not troubling Ricky.

I think the only real reason why it seems the majority are tipping Matthysse is because we have seen lighters punchers (Mayweather, Pacquiao, Senchenko, Lazscano, Collazo) hurt Ricky.... but for me, the biggest puncher he faced, on the night he was inspired, he walked through and broke his heart. Kostya landed some bombs clean and they bounced of Ricky.

Hatton spent too much of his prime fighting sub par opposition so it's tough to say for sure. For me though, at his best he's the favourite against all the above. i think it's a fair assessment but i still have to pull for Lucas knocking Hatton out. Hatton's smothering style was very effective but he got hit himself, and people tend to forget how good a body puncher Matthysse is. Those straight rights to the guts of Alexander looked like they were bursting his internal organs. Matthysse hard sparring with Sergio Martinez and the fact i dont think he's even been hurt in a fight would suggest he wouldn't be troubled by Hatton imo.

He doesn't have much luck with air conditioning, does he?

Ricky would have done well, earned loads and packed them in. I'm not sure he'd have beaten Garcia or Lucas but we'd have had our moneys worth.

Once Hatton stepped on the world stage it was not easy for him.

He fought two prime fighters and was stretched by both of them.

Her also struggled with Collazo and Urango.

Hatton's confidence would have been ruined by fighting these guys.

Doesn't mean much really; there's none of the current crop that I can imagine doing anything v prime Manny or Prime Floyd. Both made fools of skilled men and Manny left a few in a bad way.

When did Ricky struggle with Urango? I saw him win easy, despite being ill with a virus that caused him to be blowing more than usual. The Collazo fight is irrelevant as we are discussing how he would do at 10st.

I never said it was a disgrace, just putting Hatton into perspective re: Pac and Floyd.

Floyd was not stopping anyone at the time and Pacman had his quickest win in years.

A prime Hatton beats all these guys or at least has to be a strong favourite..... I think people are underestimating how great Hatton's engine was and just how huge the guy was at 140. I think we have a great crop of fighters at 140 right now, but all of them are beatable. Hatton would've man handled guys like Peterson and Khan. Garcia would've had his moments, but seriously I could see Hatton opening him up on the inside and really going to work on him. Matthysse would've been a tough fight, but I'd still fancy a prime Hatton to get the job done. Work rate, quality body punching, ability to tie up on the inside and spoil fights that were close or he was up in, just can't see him going in as an underdog against these guys.

People who point to him getting KO'd by Floyd and Manny need to realise just how far ahead of the curve those guys were/ are and also remember that Hatton wasn't looking to survive. He had a totally misguided sense of his own ability and was going all out for the win in both those fights, the KO's were inevitable. I'd argue Hatton was post prime for both of those fights too, although certainly more so for Manny, not that the result would've have been different in his prime anyway.

he was winning the fight through 5 rounds vs your man crush.

I'd have Ricky the favorite against all the big names at or recently at 140 (LMM, Alexander, Garcia, Peterson, Bradley, Khan), but if he fought each of them I think he'd probably lose at some point.
