yeah it is garbage.
so long as froch has a coherent g
ameplan, as opposed to pre-fight personality, maybe all will be forgiven.

I was surprised he said those kind of things, but it won't hurt the numbers will it?
I haven't been looking forward to this fight for some reason, but now it's so close I'm quite excited.

It's true, if Khan said the same he would be absolutely ripped on here. Hung drawn and quatered. Froch gets a pass, but that's well out of order, surprised the board don't fine him. Kessler showing all the class here.

That's a risky business what with the fight being in Woolwich.

Carl Froch has broken one of boxing's unwritten rules by openly talking about killing his opponent Mikkel Kessler on Saturday.
The Nottingham IBF super-middleweight champion is actually friends with the Danish WBA title-holder and there has never been any trash talk between the pair.
But ahead of Saturday's rematch at London's O2 Arena - where Froch hopes to avenge defeat in their 2010 meeting in Denmark - the Briton sought to up the ante and took things too far.
"On Saturday night, if I have to, I will kill this f****r," Froch told reporters. "Sorry about the language, but I will kill him. It sounds brutal, it sounds horrible, but that is what this means to me.
"I'm going to leave it in the ring. And when I'm smashing his face in, I am going to go for the kill. I am going to go for the finish.
"As much as we are friends and we are okay who does he think he is coming over here to my country after what I have done in the last three years and what he has done?"
The likeable Kessler responded with a touch more class, tweeting: "@Carl_Froch Says he wants to kill me - thats not very polite :))"
Kessler is desperate to beat Froch in his own backyard and prove his 2010 win by unanimous points decision was nothing to do with him having home advantage.
Froch is in better form, having become a three-time world champion, while Kessler - who holds the lesser WBA 'regular' title - has endured a more turbulent time, retiring with an eye injury before returning to the ring with three fights.
"Carl's ready, I'm ready," said the Dane.
"Someone asked me 'what's in it for you? Why go there and do the rematch?' And I said 'you know what, because this is the fight I want'.
"I don't see a bigger fight in the world right now. I want to fight the best. I shook Carl's hand and said I'm going to come to your home country to fight you and that's why I'm here.
"I'm also here because I want to show him I'm better than him in his own country. I've never lost in Denmark.
"I've never had the IBF belt. I've had the WBC and WBA but I want new things. In life you've got to chase things and I'm chasing his belt. I want to show Carl - and all the boxing fans in the world - that I can beat him in his hometown."
"I feel like I've already boxed.
"This fight is the reason I got involved in boxing and turned professional."
Pathetic, contrived, and totally tasteless at this time. In other circumstances id call frochs talk deeply embarrasing but coming at this time its tasteless.
What on earth possessed him.heres a chance to see two gentlemen go to battle in the ring as nd than hecsays thst? Wtf

Anyone think the photo on the Boxrec front page of the press conference is kind of funny? They know each other well but each are desperate to win, so it's almost like they don't know whether to stare each other down or shake hands. So they end up kind of holding hands, each wearing an odd expression which is a mixture of respect, affability and menace.

Its an old pic I think I can see Hennessy Sports logo in the background.

Never wanted a British fighter to lose against a foreign opponent so badly. Hope Kessler smashes him early.
Nothing would give me more pleasure than seeing Froch hit the deck Pac Man v Marquez style. The bloke is as arrogant as can be and has literally no charm whatsoever. Kessler on the other hand comes across as the perfect gentlemen.
Come on Kessler!

I think Kessler knows what's what; when someone starts to act out of character like this then the nerves are getting the better of them. I know I'm in the minority but I do think Mikkel will stop Carl who is not 'unbeatable at home'.

I agree that it may be a sign the pressure is getting to Froch. I think it's the first time in his career he's received this much media attention. That said I think he's professional enough not to let it affect his performance. I'm leaning towards Froch but wouldn't surprise me at all if Kessler takes it.

Yeah Kessler has the big event experience and has taken heart in yesterday's rant. They can both hurt each other but Kessler is the puncher of the two IMO .Apart from Bute, Carl's last stoppage was Taylor who then got banged out by Abraham.

Carl isn't the massive hitter; Kessler will body punch and hurt him pretty bad; Mikkel has one punch power at world level and froch doesn't.

Yeah that's true, Calzaghe said that Kessler's punch set alarms off.

Froch may be nervous, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. He will respect Kessler and it probably means he wont go with the bullrush tactics, which can only be a good thing.
It's going to be a close fight, and we cant be sure exactly what Kessler has got left in the tank, or if his eye/face will hold up to a tough, fast paced & vicious fight.
I'm leaning towards Froch, but it wouldn't shock me if he has to get up off the canvas and survive in the later rounds.

If his emotions are 'making' him say silly out of character things then his emotions may 'make' Carl box out of his game plan as well.

I was sure Froch was going to take this fight by boxing to a proper gameplan this time instead of spending the fight trying to walk Kessler onto a big shot from a funny angle (like he did last time out). After all the bullshit with Groves and Cleverly and now this 'kill' nonsense, I'm not convinced Froch is going to be disciplined enough to box to orders, and I'm leaning towards Kessler.
Hope to be wrong tomorrow night!

You would think a fighter who has one punch power at world level would have more one punch victories over elite level guys.
Surprising that Froch made the final bell in the first fight considering he took plenty of big shots off Kessler

Froch has got a really good chin and hasn't a single one punch knockout

Looking at the Froch sparring he seemed to take quite a few hits without being that worried about it. My concern for Carl is that he believes too much in his iron chin and walks onto something.

Agree with all the statements that Froch is showing nerves ,, He rants about who spars Kessler ,, what the fack should he care , now sprouts this rubbish , Ok it may be the heat of the moment and we all know he does'nt mean it ,, but its showing nerves and to an extent a bit of fear (fear of losing, not fear of fighting )
I think if Kessler can get in and hurt Froch early , it will put Froch right of his game,

Yep! he has a great chin but no point trying to test it to it's limits.

My concern about Carl was that he's almost too fired up for this, but tonight someone who's got a bit of inside knowledge repeated what I'd already read on this forum, namely that Kessler's been looking poor in sparring with Cleverley and Groves.
Realise that doesn't mean everything, but I have swayed back towards a late stoppage for Froch.
