I'll believe Haye v Fury is on when I see something official.

So Fury and his team choose not to fight Pulev but will insted fight David Haye?

That makes a lot of sense. Got dropped by two non punchers and pulled out of a fight with another guy, who would give him his hardest fight, with a good chance of winning, to fight the big punching, fast, Haye?

Not sure what side of the bed some of you wake up on, to be honest. Fury and Co are biding their time, looking for softer options, they aint looking for Haye.

a fight with haye would set fury up for life he would be a multi millionaire for sure he can still come again when he loses.

Haye is small, and Fury has shown what he can do to smaller boxers. A tired David Haye would be interesting.

I can accept that but I doubt Hennesey sees it that way, or Fury, for that matter. You don't go from fighting the guys he has, getting dropped hard by Cunningham, to trying to make a fight with Adamek, to pulling out of a eliminator vs Pulev, to fight David Haye instead.

I would be amazed, if this fight was announced. Truly amazed.

Seconded. Not just yet anyway I'm sure it's possible in the future tho.

Fury's team have now refused to even enter negotiations or a purse bid with Price and Pulev. Price granted at the time was a bit behind Fury in terms of development and thus it could be argued wasn't worthy of a shot. The Pulev situation tho is different, final eliminator for a title shot. You get a mandatory shot at Klitschko if you win it and don't have to sign your life away to the Klitschkos should you manage to somehow win.

In my opinion Fury's team clearly are not willing to give anything at all away in terms of power. They want to be the main people promoting his shows. A fight with Price looked possible and Maloney is quoted as saying he contacted Mr Hennessy and asked if they could just sit down and try and negotiate a deal and the answer was no not a chance. The same it would appear has happened here with Pulev, there's been a chance to try and thrash out a deal before purse bids and nothing has happened, and now purse bids have been pulled out of and they have given up the chance of a final eliminator.

A fight with Haye would require negotiation between Hearn, Booth and Hennessy and would require Hennessy to give up to certain demands and Hearn and Booth to give up to certain demands. I'm not convinced that is possible without a World title being held by one of these guys.

I don't rate Haye either. Good for 5 rounds then he is huffing and puffing. He has no jab and just throws looping shots.

Whoever lands first wins, the longer it goes the better for Fury.

My apologies for NOT being into other sports. It is ok to pay for SKY just for boxing, but NOT when you have to pay extra for the only decent fights they seem to show.
BT Sport might change all that.

Haye beat Valuev and went 12 rounds, Haye is fit, he can go 12 intense rounds, can Tyson, can Tyson repeatedly get up off the floor after Haye KOs

The only way Tyson wins this is by KO and if Haye stays down ........... which will not happen.

David has the discipline in this match up, Tyson will loose discipline and get caught, exploited and be spark out

People forget this is the PRIZEfight business, not the fight business. David Haye makes more financial sense than Pulev. Pulev may be a bigger risk (maybe is the operative word), so why not make more money fighting someone whose a lesser threat? I think it was Dempsey or Marciano who said this: "What would you rather do? Be paid $100 to carry 100 pounds up a flight of stairs, or be paid the same amount of money to carry fifty pounds up the same stairs?"

That being said, this Fury/Haye fight could potentially be the biggest heavyweight non-title fight in British history. Two loud, trash talkers. One a giant white man whose defeated every man put in front of him, the other a fast former world champion of two divisions who is black. Mind you, I think boxing is nowhere near as racist as it once was, but ffs this is better than gold. This is certified money. This could be England's version of Holmes/Cooney.

Now, personally, I think Team Tyson is going this route for many reasons: A) they know Fury isn't quite ready to tangle with Klitschko, so let's keep testing him B) the money and exposure is such that Pulev could never dream of bringing in that much to the table unless he fought in his native Bulgaria C) Fury could claim another win over another former world's champion, something Pulev can't offer. This is all about the big picture. Haye is smaller, has a fairly soft chin himself and can get reckless. Haye would put Fury into the stratosphere as being THE British/Irish hope and would certainly make him in the eyes of the general public as being superior to Pulev by beating the former WBA champion.

However, there is a twist to this as well. IF Fury happened to lose to Haye, it could be chalked up to being that its no disgrace because Haye was a former undisputed Cruiserweight and former WBA champion. It could be forgiven. If he lost to the relatively unknown Pulev, it wouldnt be. Personally, as long as Fury doesn't get "caught up" in the hype and the bullshit like he did with Cunningham where he got caught in the second round, he could pump that piston jab all night and out work Haye from the start, softening the much smaller man up and in the late rounds catch him and drop him. I wont say it will be a knockout, but I can see Haye being dropped and that being the deciding factor in a decision win for Fury.

I said all along the Pulev fight made no sense. He was likely going to get beaten, end of story.

I watched all of that

Pulev was a real step up for Fury and something to look forward to but Haye would tear Tyson a new one in no time unless Fury thinks he can win on the back foot which isn't going to happen.

Disappointed if this turns out to be true.

I think it'll happen because of the numbers involved and I also think Haye will stop Fury within the first three rounds - too fast and hits too hard.

I agree regarding Haye's stamina, but I don't think Fury's punch resistance is strong enough to last long enough for it to become a factor. If he can take the fight 7/8 rounds I can see him doing to Haye what he did to Cunningham, but I see Haye stopping him well before that. As for ducking Pulev, the Haye fight is bigger and financially more beneficial to Fury and is easily just as dangerous so I have no problem with him taking this over that.
