Personally think this is just an entertaining little bit of will they wont they by both men, fights on for me, far too much money on offer for both men for them to turn this down
12 weeks training, 9-15 minutes work on the night, several million pounds split between them, you would have to be barmy to turn this down
Maybe but look at what happened with Mayweather and Pacman. I fully agree that Fury in particular would be being utterly stupid to pass this opportunity by but it has a habit of happening for whatever reason in boxing.
Thats my point Steve, history is littered with men who played the game too long and cost themselves a fortune, In May/Pac case they are now having to try and build up Pac with a few knockouts so he can be 5 or 6 on Mayweathers "Get Rich Six" list that he signed., If Pac steamrolls Rios which he should, there will be another knockover and then they will ressurect "The big one"
Hopefully Fury/Haye don't go down this path and agree to face each other after the press goes into overdrive about the thing being off

Maybe both teams are using it as a marketing ploy
However as someone mentioned above, the best way of promoting the fight would be by just saying its ON
I was a fan but Tyson Fury has now come across as completely deluded (before it was believeable, just)
Hope Haye sparks him out now and I'm pretty angry about the whole thing

He's messing about and getting people biting; he'll be loving it, he doesn't have to even try that hard to get attention anymore.

The caravan part is clearly a piss take but the part about him wanting 80/20 in his favour because he's the man of the moment in his words isnt.

Of course it is; Fury cannot help himself but take the mick - out of himself as well as others. He is not a stupid man, Haye is a PPV boxer and a very big name internationally, do you imagine that Tyson really believes he's worth a fifth of the pot? I wish he'd post on here, he would break the comments record without a doubt.

The Haye comment is the best indicator as to whether its true or not. Fury comes out with nonsense of course, its part of his persona.
Haye's comments plus Fury already having previous regarding the Price fight and possibly the Pulev fight makes me think its not happening.

Yeah but why did Haye come out himself and say that Fury had demanded an 80/20 split aswell? It seems a bit odd! Also maybe Fury has said he wants 80% because he really doesnt fancy his chances and thus he wants to be properly rewarded if he's going to suffer a bad loss.

Haye likes a bit of a laugh as well and it must be pleasing to them both that any old bollocks gets taken seriously by us fans.
If Fury tweeted that he'd box Haye for free if he asked him on his hands and knees there'd be 10,000 comments about it in 5 minutes.
Fury is not seasoned enough for Haye and maybe never will be; I imagine Haye will have big power in 3 or 4 years, he keeps in good condition and has a big incentive to keep in trim given the money he earns when he boxes. If a Haye v Fury bout is in the offing there will be more blather about it for 6 months before it - most of it from Fury but Haye has a bit of mischief about him as well.

Be funny if Haye called his bluff, accepted the fight and then kicked the shit out of him.
Still, I guess it would still be Fury laughing. He'd got what he wanted. Shed-loads of money, for the 90-seconds or so it would take for him to get knocked out.

The only things we 'know' about him are his pronouncements; he has learnt from his past mistakes and knuckled down to training in a serious way. Fury may not have been well schooled but he knows the A's B's and C's of boxing, getting his name around and promoting himself. He turned pro young after an amateur career that did not set the world on fire and has got himself right into the mix of the top level men and the big money fights; win, lose or draw his family are set for life with no financial pressure and the rest of his days to find something else he is good at and enjoys. He doesn't seem so stupid to me; many people spend their youth messing around, drinking and whoring and have nothing to show for the years. Fury will have applied himself and done the best out of his circumstances - again, that doesn't strike me as the actions of a stupid man.

Surely if Fury thinks he is the greatest heavyweight in the world, he should not be worried about sharing 50/50 with Haye. He could make millions in what he thinks is an easy fight. We all know Fury talks a lot of bullshit, when he was British & Commonwealth champion, he relinquished them rather than fight his mandatory challenger David Price, saying he was going on to bigger and better things, then fought a 40 year old taxi driver from Belfast, sorry Martin Rogan, who hadn't fought in 17 months. So come on Tyson Fury back up some of your boasts and give the fans the fights they want to see, Haye, Pulev, Price.

Palooka,
Are you seriously saying he's set for life if he never earns another penny out of boxing ?
I've a reasonable idea of his purse level so I hope his endorsements are sensational.

If he gets a Haye bout it will be a PPV, he will get a decent cut of that and a Haye bout will bring in a lot of money. I didn't mean to imply that he'd never have to work again or could buy a gold Rolls Royce; he'd have no mortgage, wouldn't have to worry about bills and would have the time and space to find something else he can earn a decent living at. He could maybe buy his wife a business; I don't know a great deal about Ryan Rhodes but always imagined he was in a similar position. As Fury is a heavyweight with a knack for self promotion I'd have thought he'd get to that level at a younger age.

I would be amazed if this was the end of the story, I suspect negotiations are still very much underway.

A lot of travellers I know do ok financially, well, relatively speaking. Lack of mortgage is a big help in this regard.

I don't care how rich they are, the mooted 5 mill 50/50 split is too good for anyone to turn down.
I think it's all about negotiation, Haye won't be able to turn down 5 mill either
