Have to agree. And for the individual fighters mentioned, I suspect many who would subscribe for them, will already have subscribed to the channel.

But at least there is an element of cooperation between the different outfits; it can't have been easy, there are some egos there and if they didn't get it together then it's the boxers and fans who suffer.

Gary Buckland vs John Simpson announced today on the Clev show, which Hatton Promotions won.

But Simpson is not fighting Buckland, he is apparently confirmed as fighting on a Matchroom show in Glasgow on Sept 7th.

I know. They announce cards and actually put them on. Its not the allegedly way I am aware.

Not to mention that Carl Frampton was previously confirmed in a 4 fight deal with BN, starting 20/7; Martin Murrays last fight was broadcast on BN and he is not likely to fight again for another 4 months at least; and David Prices last fight was on BN and his next fight was already confirmed on BN.

So what does this new "tie up" change?

So you have even put a negative spin on the news they have got the fight of the year?

Its good news and I'm assuming now all of them including Frank will be adding to there stables now that they have the security of tv dates. McGuigan said at the Frampton signing presser that he will be signing irish prospects so hopefully he follows through with that - well he will have to if the next 3 Frampton fights after the July show are going to be in Belfast as he said.

What will really be interesting would be if Frank/Ricky/Maloney AKA the boxing Avengers team up (unofficially I guess as I think its against the rules?) on purse bids for british title fights etc - Hearn could really be under pressure here to manouvere his kids into title shots especially as the Frankster usually outbids him already as he did for BJS-Ryder but fo whatever reason couldnt keep the cards together - the added promotional muscle should do the trick....

I reckon Hearn will have to bring Coldwell closer into the fold and maybe build an allienance of some sort with fat Mick as there working together on Haye-Fury - maybe that would open up Degale-Groves and Quigg-Galahad down the line...

Any negativity was aimed at the cynical timing of an announcement that says nothing of interest at a time when boxing schedules are traditionally bare and the channel operates a pay as you go subscription policy.

The only thing id say on this is I wonder what all the people who were saying Hatton wouldnt work with FW are saying now.

Its an interesting thought. One I hadn't thought myself, but makes some sense.

It is going to improve his domestic cards more than anything. Like you mentioned he already buys the rights to the said promoters main fights anyway, but now these promoters will also get to show their entire stable I would think.

This is great news for domestic boxing in the UK, hopefully Hatton and Maloney can start to rebuild a little after the shattering affect that losing their Sky TV deals has had on their stables. The Hearn monopoly on Sky has made the majority of Sky's shows deadly dull to me, barring the Froch shows.

I think the Froch shows have been dull as well, over the 2 shows the only good fight was Froch-Kessler II.

Barker, Burns, Brook, Haye, Groves, Quigg, Froch

Plus the likes of Rees, Selby, Mitchell, etc.

It stacks up very favourably against BN. Interesting about GBP, be interesting to see if match room make the most of the fight swaps they have going with GBP.

As for the boxing channel, allegedly is better. But then again that has very little to do with Franks stable more the fights he buys. It is also a boxing only channel, would be suprising if it wasn't better than a general sports channel.

I really do want to hear your version of why he has a stronger stable, in looking forwards to it. I don't buy its stronger at all.

allegedly is great value. They average one big show a month from the US which you would have to pay $50+ for if you lived over there. On top of this you get plenty of action from Germany and the UK. Boxing fans have never had it so good with allegedly, Sky, Channel 5 and ESPN showing pretty much everything with a title.
