Darren BaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkeeeeeerrrrTheCobra wrote:Lennon Jnr very good, I also like Buffer although he has been prone to the odd gaffe, especially with the underdog fighters who he gets their name wrong etc.
I noticed that one too. Also said Quigg was the former British bantamweight champion.TheCobra wrote:Worst MC for me, most annoying! When Crolla won then, it was Anthony rooooaaaahhhh. What??? Just what??? He can't even say anyone's name properly, too busy trying to sound like a proper MC, which he isn't.
I'd prefer Brian Blessed myself.alfiemulleno wrote:Craig Stephens should be on Sky tv a lot more he does a professional job
Don't worry, they haven't forgotten him, he's in the US for the Macklin fightgazza8 wrote:Just when things were looking up when Jim Watt was left at home, this muppet turns up!!

I dont hate Watt as much as everyone else! Sure some of the stuff he says is utter crap but I think he makes some good observations during fights aswell.expe wrote:Don't worry, they haven't forgotten him, he's in the US for the Macklin fightgazza8 wrote:Just when things were looking up when Jim Watt was left at home, this muppet turns up!!

I was thoroughly impressed by McDonald's ineptitude. Thoroughly impressed.forcefraser wrote:Too much wine and bobby hope had left me well cabbaged by the time fight night came on.
However I was astute enough to spot two glaring errors from the ring announcer, whom I call the prizefighter growler.
Firstly he forgot Paul Smith's surname. He introduced him as Paul Eeeyarghhhhhh! My mate who was equally wasted as myself looked at me with a puzzled and confused face. Via the gift of live pause, we rewound it several times and not once did we hear the word "smith" pronounced. A growling noise had taken it's place.
Worse still, he completely forgot to introduce Tony Dodson by name at all. He just mentioned his record and then moved on without even introducing his name. This move sent me into utter confusion. We rewound it all the way back to the start, convinced we had been mistaken BUT THERE WAS NO MISTAKE.
Two glaring errors by the growler.
I found the scoring on Rees v Crolla to be well off. Again this could be down to me being monkeyed, but I had Rees winning by a round.
Thought GGG looked a real force.
He's always rubbish. I don't care if he apologises they should get someone better.MachoMan09 wrote:John has been in and around the game for donkey's years. Everyone has the odd off night. He's apologised (more times than he should, in my opinion) Cut him some slack.
To be fair he's been quite dodgy consistently though. Not as bad as that i admit but he's a bit too over the top i think. I know Michael Buffer is the king of OTT but for some reason he can get away with it and it seems somewhat cool. When Mcdonald does it, it just seems naff.MachoMan09 wrote:John has been in and around the game for donkey's years. Everyone has the odd off night. Logan used to trip up over his words. Worse than growlerhandsofstone wrote:Ive never seen Gary Logan do the ring announcing in a while,he was good,i take it he,s concentrating on training fighters these days as ive seen him working the corner on a few occasions :??
I'd be crap, but a great many other people could do a better job than John McDonald.MachoMan09 wrote:Horse, would you do the job at a show if I sorted it out for you to have a go?
I don't think I'd be cool under pressure with hundreds of people looking at me.MachoMan09 wrote:Why would you be crap?
