He doesn't main event uneven-ly in most cases (unless its a final eliminator).
Rees v Crolla
Froch v Kessler
Burns v Gonzalez
Rose v Alcine
All very even main event fights.
He got Brook the title shot v Alexander until the injury. Barker is fighting Geale for a world title. Froch will end up in another mega-fight. Bellew is facing Stevenson.
Its not bad. Especially for his first full year with the TV contract.
I agree with all of them except the Burns vs Gonzalez fight. He didnt have much choice about that with Gonzalez being mandatory. Maybe i am being harsh though. I guess my expectations were too high thats all.

IMO Hearn will put Burns v Crolla on froch's undercard - that was always the plan apart from he was expecting Rees to come through
Hearn is the saviour of British boxing

I've got a lot of time for Crolla really nice bloke and he is never in a dull fight. But Ricky Burns is a level above. If Tommy Coyle wins he should fight him or fight Kevin Mitchell but Ricky Burns is a huge mismatch. Never seen Crawford fight heard his fight with Breidis Prescott wasn't very good though.
One fighter I have been keen to face Crolla is Terry Flanagan, a fighter who I hope gets a big push in his next couple of fights I'm convinced he would take Crolla.

I'm glad you've came out and said this billy. You'd have had a hard job defending your mab if hearns is allowed to ty and sell this fight. What is important now is that you don't let this happen, it would be a waste of 6 months of rickys career and i dont even think its the domestic payday that matchroom would hope.
I don't know much about crawford, but it would be a bold choice, up and coming and no title. risk outwieghs reward, although a big payday. if he's mandatory and you take it, your team would be due sone credit for taking it
Abril, gamboa or vasquez are the fights i'd like to see. unifications are the fights to go for

Rees looks like he doesn't have much left and Crolla is far from anything special. Neither should be fighting for world titles on the back of that crap fight last night - you shouldn't get a fast track route to a world title shot just because the world champ is in the same promotional stable as you, and also British. I don't think Crolla would beat Mitchell or Murray.

Is Crolla any worse than Laryea, Evensen and Beltran?
Now, I'm not saying that Burns' poor opposition means that Crolla should get a shot, just that I'd not be entirely surprised if it happened. Not at all.

Please God no,Anthony Crollas 1 of the nicest guys in the game and picked up a great win against Gavin Rees and im pleased for him(i had it 115-114 Rees but couldnt argue either way) but he has done nothing to merit a world title tilt,Burns has already fought the Kevin Mitchells and Nicky Cooks in title defences,no more please,im Scottish and love Ricky but im starting to lose patience,he needs to be in the BIG fights NOW,he,s fought the mediocre opposition in 2 weight classes, sooner or later 1 of these below fringe contenders are gonna beat him and he,ll look back on his reign with regret
Carl Froch,a man among men,nuff said :x

Gotta feel for Derry if this happens. Personally think that there should be a rematch Rees v crolla 2 or crolla v matthews 3 on the Burns undercard.

Why?
As much as I rate Derry, his whining about Crolla's win last night sticks in my craw a bit - he said Crolla had the chance to beat him twice and didn't, but equally Derry himself didn't beat Crolla last time out, and Crolla has just got an impressive victory over a man who beat Derry.

I think we need a definitive "best" boxer domestically if one of thems gonna challenge Burns for the WBO,whether its Crolla,Rees,Mathews,Flannigan etc whoever but until 1 of them can say definitively they are the best Lightweight in UK,then none of them should be anywhere near a world title, apart from Rees, none of them have even proven themselves at European level, our world titlists make defences against below-par,sub-standard opposition then wonder why they no credit across the pond

Mitchell, Murray, Rees, Crolla, Flannigan, Mathews, Gethin, Walsh etc. There are plenty of good domestic fights that can happen between that lot.
If Crolla could beat a few of them especially Mitchell or Murray then I wouldn't be against him getting a shot at Burns. However Crolla has arguably lost 4 domestic fights in the last 15 months, so he is simply not a credible challenger for Burns at the moment.

good question. derry always gets opportunities after defeats, even bad ones. to his credit he always comes back well, but I've never seen a fighter given so much good will, benefit of the doubt or opportunity after being stopped in good class.
derry will no doubt get another shot at crolla, a fight I find more likely than crolla v burns.

crolla has not arguably lost 4 domestic fights. he's come back from defeats and had a hard-earned 12 round victory last night.
I wonder where murray fits in? is he with farnell now? will he be looking to face crolla? that'd be an awesome fight but an awkward one considering the amount of time joe gallagher'd worked with murray. one of those fights that many will want but that others, in the industry, could find very awkward.

He has
arguably lost 4 recent domestic fights: Twice against Mathews, once against Sykes and once against Rees last night.

Maybe it isn't likely, but it would be the sort of win that would give him enough credibility to challenge Burns.

Crolla's win last night is better than any of the wins these guys have got, isn't it?

The lightweight division is packed with talented, fit and game boxers but Burns is by far the best of them; I can't really see why any other boxer from Britain would shoot for him unless they thought he was the weakest champ which he isn't. Burns would turn the rest of the British lot over no issues. Gavin didn't fight very well last night but Crolla did well; I think that any mix of Crolla, Matthews, Rees, Mitchell and Murray would lead to excellent fights and really you could toss a coin as to who'd win; we really are lucky to have them

Add tommy Doyle and especially terry Flannagan to the above list and have a super 6 tournament, some great fights there.

Heres a thought.........
A lightweight Prizefighter tournament with all the big domestic names in it.
Guaruntee the winner a shot at Burns.
Even put the prizefighter on the undercard of a big Froch/Burns bill.
Id pay pay per view for that even although im not really a fan of prizefighter.

They don't need to enter a tournament of 3 round fights in order to fight each other.
They should have a tournament with 10 or 12 round fights to determine who can fight for a world title.

Definitely this version.
A 3 round prizefighter would be a huge waste.
