I don't think so. A reasonable analogy to me is Kevin Mitchell. Clearly Frankie had a stellar amateur career so accept the analogy gets a bit stretched there.
More inconsistency and not living the life. Both talented guys who will prob look back on their careers and think if only theyd properly applied themselves in and out the ring

Not at all, I'm deadly serious. I think he will be a very tough night for almost anyone and that he would beat Brook(who may not fight at Welter anymore).

In terms of ability, he's always had what it takes, only an idiot would deny that (in case you any of you are reading, hi
).
Some had and continue to have concerns about Frankie at welterweight, some even believing his potential best suited to lightweight (a weight he just couldn't make on a consistent and healthy basis). However, I think Frankie has shown to himself and the rest of us that his power is coming on at WW. You don't make the likes of Vassell and Witter backoff by massaging them. He's not built to be ripped, but he's looking more solid in every fight.
Providing the attitude stays right (and lets not forget its been faultless for two years now) then yes, he is en route to world level boxing, yes he'd beat Kell (I think Kell will be stepping up in weight though), and yes, I'll be even more smug than I am now. If Frankie gets some real belief in himself, he's going to be a nightmare to fight at any level of boxing.

he's got the sweetest footwork in British boxing, IMO.
I'd probably get a semi just watching him shadowbox.

What has Frankie done to show he is even elite as a pro?
Looks like brook is moving up so it doesn't matter, but I see Brook beating him.
Woodhouse almost beats Gavin - 'oh Frankie just wasn't right'
Jones almost beats Brook - 'Kell just isn't that good'
Seems to be how it goes on here. I had no idea Denton Vassell was a gatekeeper to the world class.

I agree with everything you've said aside from that really. I dont buy into he whole he's not built to be ripped myth. Anyone providing they have the correct diet and workout routine can get in very good shape! I think when people say that it's a bit of an excuse.

Frankie seems more textbook skill , Brook seems more fast / explosive.
It's ok to like both fighters you know lads.
Careerwise I would say Brook is about 6 fights ahead of Frankie.
Just need to see some 'names' sooner than later for both men.
That's my only fear for FG is that he gets nothing but civic hall level British or unknown Europeans for the next year or more.
Whereas Brook is doing big ticket numbers now and has the Sky machine.

How many has he done for Hull? I wouldn't be surprised if he has lost a bit of momentum this year.

He's on his way though; he looked good v Vassell who is very decent and an all rounder. I hope Gavin makes a concerted go at the European level and then steps it up, he's growing into the weight and seems to be tougher than he looks.

Completely agree with the first line. I like to watch both and hope they both go on to world level. They have different styles and both still have bags of potential.

I Would Look At Matthew Hatton,Lee Purdy Or Even Mark Thompson These Fighters Would Ask Different Questions Of Frankie.

Has he won the british outright yet? A domestic fight to secure that would be good and tgere are plenty of sold European level tests from Britain

One more defence needed, he's stated on twitter that it will be on the show at the Copper Box in September, the obvious opponent is Matthew Hatton, Purdy's taking time off to make weight, he's beaten Witter and Vassell and won't be giving Theophane a shot anytime soon because he wouldn't give him the opportunity when he was British champion. The only other options are Lynes, Watson and O'Donnell.

to be fair, hardly anyone looks good against witter. witter is world class at being awkward. gavin looked better than most in dealing with a guy who is the boxing equivalent of a schitzophrenic kamakaze at times.
