By all accounts he is struggling with the weight to much muscle mass IMO he should look to trim it down. He has bags of talent. I'm just not convinced with Ingle (body builder) he should be knocking on Booth’s door, who is an underrated trainer.

Smoke and mirrors but it cannot be hidden in the Boxing Ring!!

The guy has went nowhere in the last year, except fighting a guy he fought a year ago!

It is a comeback fight so opponent was never going to be class and atleast the boxing fans (not hardcore) have some idea of the opponent.

He is staying at welterweight for the foreseeable future.

September 21st Kell will be @ 147lbs fighting in the Sheffield Arena

Hasn't ducked anybody, but I guess you cannot educate a pork sandwich.

He has both a nutritionist and S&C both do a cracking job.

Don't think his foot properly healed until Early June? Maybe didn't want to rush it and instead ease his way back to 147?

List Kells poor perfomances its a list of possibly one fight which he still won with a river of claret coming out of his hooter unable to breath and not in the correct condition.

Everyone else has been soundly beaten . QUE''yeah but he hasn't fought anyone''

If Kell can't get down to welter for his foot injury he shouldn't be boxing on this show if he's a proper welter. The fellow is not busy enough by half and from the sounds of it a lot is psychological and motivational - believe me, a lot of people in the every day working world get a lack of motivation for their jobs. I agreed with a post above that doubted the nutritional advice after he sagged v Jones the first bout. His trainer is a fantastic physical specimen but boxers need different muscles and masses than body builders. I hope Brook does not turn up looking ripped and getting gassed and bashed up. Jones was a handful for him last time and I imagine he wants the win.

I was taking the piss with CP.

As for your post Palooka I agree, if he is a Welter, he should box at Welter. The foot thing was just me thinking aloud, though it wouldn't surprise me if it is the reason. If he is fighting in September at Welterweight then it kind of makes sense to take it steady over 4 months and have a fight out of the weight in-between, rather than intensively get down to the weight (if he is tight) and risk another injury. It'll probably be his team being ultra-cautious.

It wouldn't surprise me if Kell has big motivational issues after the 7 months he has had and how far his career seems to have stalled (made worse by the fact he was just about to make it). He looked bang fit against Saldivia, so I would hope for something along those lines. If he is in shape he will batter Jones (like he was doing until he got tired/broke his nose in the first fight). After the riot act Eddie read them after that fight surely Brook won't come in out of shape.

change kell's record, and I'll change mine. that's the whole point. he hasn't beat anyone, bar Kenyan lemmings and Ecuadorian cabdrivers. plus a borderline world top 10 guy in Jones who he struggled mightily with *cue the usual excuses*

i love the nose one, by the way, like Marquez hasn't spent about 16 rounds of the Pacquiao fights in the same state.

Does either the WBO or IBF have an Intercontinental/International 'title' for 150lbs?

Thanks for the response DMA; Brook needs to be in good shape mentally as well as physically as a slip v Jones would undo years of work. He has to knuckle down as nothing is a given at World Title level at either welter or light middle; all the talent in the world can count for next to nothing and 99% of beaten fighters have a plausable reason for an unexpected loss or bad showing. Fair play to Brook; he proved himself above everyone in Britain by a country mile and was on the verge of a title shot; I really thought he ought to have established himself with good wins over proven and known contenders before a shot so that there were no real doubts about his quality. We'll see how he gets on Saturday; if he blows Jones away and then defeats a real top ten contender then he ought to be in v one of the champs; he'll need to look good Saturday though before I'd put any money on him v Devon.

You're no better CP. A thread about Frankie Gavin being world class has you so excited that you get a semi-on. No actual argument from you on there that he wasn't World Class? Who has he beaten then? Or is that different?

Agree with all of that :TU: .

Just think if Khan beats Devon, what a fight that would set up.

i didn't once say anything more than his footwork gives me a swell. no mention at all of Gavin being world class, or otherwise. at least when I nut-hug, I come out and say so. i should have mentioned on that thread, all in all I'd be a little surprised if he did win a full world belt, FWIW. :TU:
