Really fed up of Brook and I fail to see how his career has improved or prospered since he beat Mike Jennings in a dour encounter in 2010.

This is the guy who swerved a supposed fight with Tim Bradley to participate in eliminator after eliminator after eliminator. The man has featured in more eliminators then John Anderson's first whistle.

This 152 lb catch weight for Brook is new to me. Anyone know the reasoning behind it? It sure seems as though the easier fights are at 154 but I can't imagine Kell waiting in line for a title all over again.

Because apparantly he couldnt make 150. Thats what Carson Jones's manager has said anyway if you look back through the thread.

Supposedly because he couldn't make 10st 7lbs at the notice he was given, so they made it 10st 10lbs and now it's been moved to 10st 12lbs. I can see a move to 11st coming on, because he was ranked at 10st 7lbs the governing bodies will rank him at 11st. I suspect he might be looking at Ishe Smith, either in September or sometime around December or January.

Ie he's moving up to an easier weight class ;;-)

This is pretty disappointing. Not that he can't make weight, because he looks fit and like he can, but more so that it seems like a strategy at avoiding a lot of tough and interesting fights at welterweight. I like Brooks talent, but like many others, I've been waiting for a real quality opponent.

Jones is good, but if Brook struggles again, my expectations will drop.

I spoke to Brook at the Mitchell v Katsidis fight, he said he would be moving up to light middle in a few years because making weight was getting harder. Seems like that is happening now.

Interesting that a few people are saying about getting a ranking then maybe fight for a vacant title, will these same people then call him a "paper champion"?

It's not going to prove doubters wrong though.
He isn't in it to prove his doubters he wants a world title.
Some doubters will never change their opinion anyway.

Fighters are judged on their opposition to be fair.

According to Hearn the weight is because Brook had physio on a foot injury, and Hearn didn't want him worrying about making weight as well.
Sounds odd to me, as if your the No1 contender you would want to protect that ranking, also he has brought on a nutritionist and is supposed to be doing everything right, so wouldn't that mean making the weight easier?

Maidana would be a great fight, but my money would be on Marcos!

His career has been fairly uneventful anyway. I'll give him a break when he does something interesting.

Tough fights out there, but I would like to see him fight Broner and then get in the Mayweather sweepstakes.

He'd definietly have a size advantage. As people always say, Brook is a big welterweight.
