Some of the men would be reluctant to travel and some must be out of the price range for an eliminator or 'marking time' bout; I reckon it'll be Senchenko, he is content to travel and I reckon he'll put a very decent fight up.

I take it Brook can't travel either?

It will be an unheralded South American in the vein of sandivia no doubt.

Senchenko really isnt that good. Stopping a past his best Hatton who hadnt fought in 3 and half years doesnt mean much. He also got his head boxed off by Malignaggi. Senchenko is a long range boxer who likes to use his jab but he's doesnt hit that hard *although not feather fisted* and he's very stiff and rigid.

No, he wasn't a top level fellow but at least he showed he'd get on a plane and box away from his crowd; if he boxes a top man then more of his crowd will spend and go across to support him. I can imagine it'd be easier getting up for a bout in the US v a big name rather than an everyday sort of fight

I think it has to be a pretty top name or they're going to look daft announcing a 'big name' and then coming with an anti-climatic opponent, so I'm pretty optimistic we'll get a good 'un!

As for Brook traveling, they already said it's going to be in Sheffield Arena so it's a non-discussion for this fight.

And if it is Mosely as some are guessing, despite the guy being quite shot and well past his best, I can still see him beating Brook. Despite his dominating performance on Saturday, Jones still landed way too many easy shots on Brook, and Mosely can punch.

I wouldnt rule out amir khan as a potential opponent

Mosley wont beat Brook at this stage of his career. A big part of the reason Jones was able to land shots on Brook like he did is because he's always coming forward throwing. Mosley would try and box with Brook which would suit Brook down to the ground because he likes having time to think.

I doubt whoever it is will be the type of oponent were anticipating. I'm certain it wont be Berto or Ortiz, both pose way too much risk and we know team Brook dont do risks. Malignagi would be a good name but could outwork Brook, so another unlikely scenario. Maidana is interesting but a tough little fcuker who brings it, thats probably enough to scare team Brook off, so he's out as well.

Its guaranteed to be someone were not anticipating or wanting.

I tend to agree with you and I realise I may be way off but I just thought it was quite alarming how Brook seemingly let Jones hit him so much considering Brook was so in control. He won't get away with taking too many off SSM! If he can land (or throw) of course.

People keep on mentioning Shane Mosley however that for me would be a poor fight. Come September he'll be 42 years old! His last big performance was almost 5 years ago against Margarito. Brook was on the brink of facing Alexander 3 times for the world title. Facing Mosley would be a massive step down.

No chance of this fight happening anyway, old man Mosley poses way to much risk for team Brook.

Mosley is old and shot, there is no disputing that, but even as he is today he's still a level above anyone Brook has faced.

I have seen Brooks record. I think you may has misinterpreted my post. What I said was "Brook was on the brink of facing Alexander 3 times for the world title. Facing Mosley would be a massive step down."

What I'm suggesting is Brook fought his way into the mandatory position to face Alexander. Terms for the fight was agreed only for the fight to be called off 3 times. For Brook to have been in that position, to where he is now being linked to a fight with Mosley, is a massive step backwards in terms of the momentum he had built and the position he fought himself into. I agree in terms of Brooks fight resume, Mosley would be the biggest name by far.

One things for sure - the opponent has been named somewhere on this site !

Ive got a feeling might be Broner to be honest. But who knows. Would love Maidana be a good scrap that.
