Too much ranting along with bogus "facts."
It reallly all came down to Ali being hugely superior to Brian London.
I don't think, nor does any fairminded individual, that Ali needed any "help" to dismiss the Brit in whatever round he chose.
But no, London wasn't a great opponent for a championship fight. He was on par with say, a Terry Daniels or a Ron Stander.

My family is from Blackpool originally and this thread made me click that during the timeframe my great grandad would of been living and training/fighting there around the time as London. As he passed away in 1997 was unable to ask him so I decided to ask my nan who I've lived with my whole life if he ever mentioned London turns out even she knew him as my great grandad used to spar him. Found out that my nan who isn't a boxing fan knew a bit about his career. May have even led me to finally find my great grandad on boxrec though I need to match a few dates. Sorry for going a little off topic just really excited to find out something about my great grandad because of this thread.

I have a list of fighters from Blackpool, including several who sparred with Brian London in July and August 1966,
helping him prepare for his bout with Cassius Clay.

Brian seemed to very popular with the 'older' Local Residents and Vacationers who frequented
Pontin's Holiday Camp.

Brian London was a credit to the British Boxing Sport.
I don't think that my great grandad would of been sparring him around that time, it will be probably impossible for me to find out when he was, though I would imagine it probably would of been earlier in Londons career as like many people my great grandad stopped competing when he started a family but I will try and find some more information out today. If only I could of figured this stuff out a couple of years ago before my great grandma died she would of been able to tell me more than my nan who was still pretty young around that time.
