Well, at least Mendoza's connect rate went up.

I understand gil.gilgamesh wrote:A lot of time I don't get to pay as good of attention as I'd like because I'm on here talking to you guys, so tonight when the main card rolls around. I'll just pop in Every 4 rounds to give updates on my scorecard up to that point in the fights.
I have that fight too, but I think it went longer (Yes as I thought the fight with Roger went 6 rounds). Maybe I'm wrong. The name I was thinking of was Gabriel Elizando I believe. He was dropped in the 1st by Elizondo and then proceeded to drop him 4 times in the 2nd.Rover wrote:I understand gil.gilgamesh wrote:A lot of time I don't get to pay as good of attention as I'd like because I'm on here talking to you guys, so tonight when the main card rolls around. Oh, re Gonzalez, I think you're thinking of his fight with Roger Gonzalez (the guy whose name you couldn't recall).
I've never heard that either.JCS wrote:Never heard the theory that younger fighters "mature" faster at lower weight classes... Probably because the division depth is thinner.. or am I missing something?
He should've retired when Mijares stopped him. He's finished.gilgamesh wrote:Rafael Marquez is coming back Sept. 7th how about that? I've always been a big fan of both Marquez brothers. I hope Rafael can look ok coming back. They're not matching him too tough in his first fight back. Pitting him against a guy that's 16-2-1. If he can't look good against this guy, he should consider hanging 'em up for good.
I'll be rooting for a one sided KO win for Rafa though.
I don't think he's got another title win in his future, but I've always been a fan and always will be. I don't abandon my guys because they choose to fight on past their prime, I would advise against it...but ultimately it's his career, it's his choice and I respect that. If I'm a fan, I'm a fan to the end.Rover wrote:He should've retired when Mijares stopped him. He's finished.gilgamesh wrote:Rafael Marquez is coming back Sept. 7th how about that? I have no problem with rooting for your favorites; I did for Tito v. Jones even though I thought he should've stayed retired.gilgamesh wrote:I don't think he's got another title win in his future, but I've always been a fan and always will be. Yeah I always think they should show the undercard all the way up until the main card.DetroitHxC wrote:And I agree. I was actually thinking that earlier. It makes no sense to have the undercard end more than an hour before the main telecast starts.

I looked up his record before I made my pick for the bout, it was nothing to suggest he's somebody to take lightly.DetroitHxC wrote:I'm not convinced Terrazas is a pushover here. He may give Leo a run for his money.
