I can remember watching PJ box and he was an excellent fighter and very, very fit; he must have been so frustrated that he had to pack it in. The Americans can be excused for not knowing and horse is a very good wind up merchant, some of the boxers that come on here have their knockers but Gallagher was a very good lad and doesn't slag anyone, he deserves no shit and plenty of respect.

Yes mate.
Anyone who runs the Dublin Marathon in 3 hours 9 minutes and 5 seconds dressed as a leprechaun IS the top leprechaun wherever he wants to be in my eyes.

Thanks Palooka.
But everybody are Intilted to there opinions, that's cool with me.

Ya I was too fit, for me own good.
Did not know, when to stop training, that caused my body to breakdown.

Ya I was very upset, when I had to retire, a lot of people don't know this,
Me and Frank Maloney had a chat about me fighting the great Arturo gatti r.i.p
If i successfully defended my title against charlie Shephard in our rematch.

I think, you The Americans would have loved my style, well that's my opinion :DD

Why did you have to retire? You were just 24 when you lost to Dibatza and just 27 when you had your final fight.

Hi Conan.
Hi Well I had to retire at 24, because of Heath reasons, just after my fight with Dibatza
And I was told, that's the end of my career, ya the worst time any fighter could go through
I would not wish on anybody..

But I always determined to get back into ring, so as my health slowly started to return back to almost normal, we had to give it another try..
My 2 fights that I had on my return, told me and my trainer, that's the end.

No offence to fellas I fought on my return, but I kinda struggled with them
and in my hay day, That would not happen..

My trainer and great friend, decided to retire from boxing, I knew it was my time to go, also.

"Health reasons" is pretty general, but I respect your right to privacy. I keep my identity hidden on this forum, so I fully understand the desire not to tell everything. In boxing, with your life on the line, always inches away from a severe beating, you should be 100%. Going in with anything else is pretty damn stupid.

There was nothing dodgy or anything to be embarassed about; if you search PJ Gallagher on BoxRec records there is a biography of PJ; that'll show how unlucky the man was and how he ought to be afforded more respect from people who ought to know better.

Palooka, is a smart person, that knows about boxing and he could share some boxing knowledge with you,
If you ask nicely :DD
